Actually I think Ares is the God of War, Kratos is a character sony made up and threw in with existing Greek mythology. And as stupid as Mokap is, he is a tribute to Carlos Pesina the guy who played Raiden in the old MK games (and I believe he's still NRS's motion capture guy). and he's actually a cannon character. So as lame as it is to admit it Mokap actually has a place in Mortal Kombat :) ...Just saying

I wasn't referring to Rain being a joke as in he's a terrible character, I mean he was actually created as a joke lol. Plus, as has already been stated quite emphatically, Annihilation blew lol.

I don't take MK like it's supposed to be so painfully seriously. I like some of the quirkiness that the Challenge Tower offers, I find the over-the-top levels of blood and gore to be endearing (and hilariously awesome, yes), I find Dan Forden's "Toasty!" to be hilarious and a wonderful reminder of my childhood. With all that, I still didn't find Mokap to be anything special. I appreciate the props they were offering for Carlos Pesina, but as a playable character I always just wondered why should I care? Mokap never struck me at all. To each their own and all that, but that's my $0.02 *shrugs*
