there were these as classics:

Non playable:

TS

Goro

Playable:

Liu-Kang

Johnny Cage

Raiden

Sonya

Sub-Zero

Scoprion

Kano

Unlocked:

Reptile

That brings the total classic characters to

8 that were playable at the time not 6... And without Reptile there were 7 classic...

To be clear... you do mean Unlocked as in FIGHTABLE, not PLAYABLE, don't you? Because you damn sure can't BE Reptile in MK1.

Uh yes you can play as Reptile.

If you follow the instructions. If you beat him. He should be unlocked and playable.

^I played as him in MK1 on my SG version, his fatality is Scorpions, and he has the moves, of Sub-Zero, and Scorpion.

^Unless my game has a glitch but others have played with him on MK1.

The remake for Deception I couldn't unlock/play as him. That is what I meant. Sorry I didn't clarify which version you can play as him.

on shaolin monks i beat the one eyed cyclops dude at the pit but i dont know where to go from there i looked everywhere but i can't figure it out....:( i feel stupid

Well you should. You posted something that isn't even related to this topic or the Forum it self. Go post in the MK:SM Forum.

I think that Armageddon will greatly surpass Trilgoy. Armageddon has way more to offer. Characters, story, modes, online play, better graphics, better sound quality, etc.

Console versions don't count for those games. There was no legitimate way to play as Reptile in the arcade version of MK1, and that's what we use to judge whether a character was playable or not. I don't know what bizarro version of that game you have for the Genesis, either, 'cause I beat Reptile countless times in the Genesis version and never once got to play as him.

I'm sure it would've been possible to play as Reptile using a cheat device, but that stuff doesn't count either. Hell, you even could play as Dan Forden if you used a cheat device.

Nope, no cheat device for the SG. Didn't need one for the SNES/SG era.

Of course I need to buy a new Power Cord and Af/etc. Adapter again. since mine are in bad shape.

^Sucks badly.

I'll have to play my SG version again... Who knows. All I remember is playing as him. Never played the arcade one back then my parents sort of frowned on the whole "Fatality!" thing. So many of the arcade versions I haven't played thus I go by the Home Version.

Whatever, anyway there are still 10 original characters. LOL.

That's weird. I know there's a glitch in one of the home versions (the SNES one, I believe) that'll give the second player a green palette if they enter the game right after Reptile's been beaten and choose either Scorpion or Sub-Zero, but you wouldn't actually get Reptile's moves, you'd just be a green Scorpion or Sub-Zero.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find my Genesis MK1 cartridge for years, so I can't really help test any of this. Nonetheless, I'm sure I was never able to play as Reptile before. Maybe you've got a one-in-a-million glitch on your cartridge.

Don't know. Tis possible.

I remember one guy in another forum posting about fighting Ermac *not the Scorpion glitch* in MK1, along with Noob. Before MK2 was realeased... Of course no one believed him since A)He didn't know their names because none of did before MK2's release. *no he said they were those 2 after MK2's release or a few years after.* *It was before 1999.*

^ He posted an image from it. *Terrible looking but none-the-less it seemed realistic and not photo-copied.*

Maybe there are still some glitches not discovered yet.

I'll try finding anything I can.

MKA because more characters, better graphics and probably better storyline

Graphics aren't everything, if you're implying that. Which I could be wrong about you.

I think both games are really good. Trilgoy was a great game for it's day, just as is Armageddon (I'm guessing it will be good). As of now, I'd say Armageddon is better. That is just becuase Trilogy is so old and people prefer newer games.
