MK 4 on PSP and other forms of Portable Kombat

So I recently was able to land a PSP finally, and as a lot of you know, it's possible to run PS1 games on it with minimal software modding. I have MK4 for PS1 so it was clear what had to be done. Turns out that not only does it work well, it almost seems like it runs better on PSP. I hadn't played MK4 for a long time, and it really reminded me what an overlooked (and fun) game it was.

It also made me wonder that other than MK: Unchained why there aren't any MK games on PSP other than the Midway Arcade Treasures collection. It seems like Midway kind of gave up on portable gaming systems in the last generation, there were 3 games released for the Game Boy Advance but only one for the Nintendo DS (which was just UMK3 + Puzzle Kombat).

Recently with UMK3 being released for iOS, perhaps we'll see a return to mobile platforms. SSFIV showed the 3DS can handle fighting games, and Sony has the PS Vita coming out soon too. I know some members of the MK team have already made comments on possible ideas for new platforms, so hopefully we'll hear news soon enough.
 
I had every pre-PS2 MK on my PSP, even had MvC.
It was absolute bliss.

Then my fatass friend sat on my PSP and smashed the screen :mad:



But I would definitely love to see a return of handheld fighters.
Seems like for a while Tekken was the only one.
 
Yea I have a psp fat with a 16gb memstick pro duo, CFW and it is full. besides MK4, and trilogy, I have a bunch of stuff on there. I haven't messed with it in a while I was thinking about selling it, but dont think I would get enough for it to even bother.
