Mains that come and go

When I first picked up this game, Jade was my first Main. I used her loads and tragically, over time I ended up dropping her. I've also mained Sheeva, Nightwolf, Sindel, Baraka and now Cyber Sub Zero.

Out of all of those, I probably only play Baraka and Cyber Sub Zero now. I've also pretty much dropped Sindel, I find Nightwolf utterly boring to play with and Sheeva I don't really use on a serious level (or maybe I should?)

So I could use a new main, or two. Based on who I use, who do you think would be good for me? Been thinking, maybe I need a top tier heavy weight, though I really dont want to start tier whoring. Baraka is about mid tier now, and CSZ is about mid-top (though I think this character has so much potential). Mileena, Kitana, Reptile, SubZero, Kung Lao and Raiden hold no interest for me what so ever as I think virtually all of them are lame as hell, maybe except for Kitana, but a lot of people use her and I have no interest in spending the match throwing fans for 90 seconds.

Been thinking maybe Kabal or Cage? I was also messing around with Skarlet yesterday, and was also thinking Lui Kang or maybe even Kenshi? There is also Rain or Freddy to think about. I do think I gravitate more to rush down characters now and characters that aren't popular or used a lot.

I know it's not that relevant, but when I played SSF IV, my mains were Guy, Gen, Makoto and Hakan.

You just eliminated most of the top tier heavy weights. I have no problems with any of the characters anymore, not saying I beat them all the time, I mean I feel they are all pretty fair now. Except that extra 10 frame crappy on subs freeze...but I digress.

Cage is stupid good but kind of bland to play after a bit in my opinion.
 
Well I just messed around with Lui Kang, not really feeling it....but wow, Freddy Kruger is a beast! Can't believe this guy isn't being used more....

The thing is Tread, you use Reptile, who doesn't really have bad matches except for a couple like Mileena or CSZ. Now CSZ and Baraka who I use, really struggle against Kitana and Mileena. They have one or two options, but those two have tons against them. I'm not looking for just a top tier character, just someone who has tools to deal with most situations. I wont be dropping Baraka or CSZ, I love using them, but I feel fed up with my other mains and I dont want to just use two characters. However, Freddy looks like he could be an absolute beast when used right..
 
For some reason I can really see you playing Rain. Just matches your play style IMO and he's got potential. I would look into:

Rain
Cage
Kang

Skarlet and Kabal may be too much work and too hard to play constantly online.

I mess around with rain in the lab, Negative edge kills him.

Pick up scorpion man a solid character he has a Insane Vortex guessing game that takes 30% everytime the opponent guesses wrong, He has a unblockable special.
 
Not sure about Lui Kang, and im put off by Cage on the fact that a lot of people use him, but I do think he is very cool. However, Rain also looks pretty awesome. I dont have him on DLC but I need to get him and Kenshi to complete my roster. Think I might get Rain and give him and Freddy a trial run.

Scorpion does look good, but is a lot of his game based around his vortex? Unblocakble special? Oh yes, his hellfire. Hasn't that been nerfed now? I don't think it tracks as well as it used to, pre patch.
 
Freddy Krueger is awesome! The only reason I didn't pick him as my second main is because he's not a real MK player but more of a fun, surprise type char that they added. Freddy will either be my third or fourth guy that I'll use.
 
Ahh hello Gobbler!

Yeah, Freddy doesn't fit into MK at all, but as purely a character in this, he is pretty frightening in terms of the things he can do. Already found some nice combos like:

Nightmare stance high, dash, B2, dash, 22 near hell claw, dash, 22 near hell claw or 22, 1+2.
