Of course the flu vaccine shortage cannot be faulted to "dubbya" or his administration, or the big buisnesses that influence and control America, or our oh so honest Congress persons and Senators, or the FDA or no Government related and controled entity. Politics corrupt in America? SHeesh! No Way. Who cares if there is not enough for just the common folk. All of the important people will still get it. Seriously though nothing and I mean nothing is ever G Dubbya's fault. In fact isn't that was they always are saying. It's not my fault, someone else did it too, we thought the same thing that you all did, how were we supposed to know.?????? Can't you all see that? We have the best president ever. Things are so much better than they ever have been before. The World is such a happy place these days and the Democrats and liberals are just trying to rain on everybodys parade. Maybe the first time you have the shot, just like anything else you're exposed to the first time, it can make you feel sick, but really the flu shot saves thousands of lives every year. The young and elderly are especially susceptible to influenza. The flu shot builds up antibodies and prevents a "LOT" of deaths each year. Waste of time and money? It would be a lot bigger waste if thousands more people per year were getting the flu, in the US alone.

The thing with the shot though is that it's all guess work. The CDC comes up with the 3 most likely strains of influenza to return during the flu season and that is what they prepare for, making a vaccine to combat those three.
So they're basically charging people for a possible vaccine they need, and most often giving them a strain they've (the people) never come into contact with. Thats why a lot of folks do get sick after taking the shot.
I can understand that the elderly, very young, and those with illnesses that decrease their immunities to disease should take it. However, for your everyday, average, healthy human being, it's a waste of money. Go spend $20 on MAT2 and get something you can enjoy and use instead.

Sorry to make assumptions about your age. Anyway, I agree that it might be a waste of time and money for someone like you or I, but the whole concept of the flu shot is not a waste. That is what I was getting at. Also, even if you do catch a different strain of the flu than you were vaccinated for, it still helps. Your body is still more prepared to fight it than if you were not vaccinated at all. Just wanted you to acknowledge the fact that the flu vaccine does actually save lives.
