kung lao overpowered....still

the only thing thats broken about kung lao is his spin. if u block his spin it pushes u back making it impossible to punish and this is what pisses me off about him,ppl abuse his spin cause they know its very safe, they need to add more recovery time or this move will get spammed for ever. same with raiden, noobs abuse his superman move cause is very low risk, i dont get why these 2 moves are super safe its phuking stupid on nrs part.

I don't enjoy fighting Kung Lao Online, but I don't worry about it, A fight's a fight. I fight 'til the other player quits, & No matter how much spam He/She does, I'll still post "GGs"
but i agree he needs to be punishable

90% of its pushback has been removed already for petes sake! everyone in the game can punish it now if you cant you have poor reaction time or something.
 
it just seems like peeps fall back on kl or lk once they start losin happens me too often ill beat em then dey get all serious an pick one of de two if spin doesnt hit 1st time hell ill spam till it hits its de players usin him not de character . wit lk its jus low high low high all day wit so little to think about (some kombo ye got there liu)
 
I also think that his spin is way too powerful. If someone does Kung Lao's spin as someone else does Kano's X-Ray, the X-Ray won't actually grab him, because the spin negates it.

That spin negates too many moves.

Kung Lao just has one block string that really gives me trouble, I don't know the command but it's a barrage of punches. It wouldn't be much of a problem if it didn't do hella chip damage n I could low poke out. His spin is a little hard to punish on block to, especially online because it gives a push back; because of this i just go for Kitana's f2 set ups or, ex fan.

its just as punishable as kanos upball or reptiles elbow dash, that is to say pokes, upper cuts and fast specials. instead of trying to combo out try one of those.

its literally 10% of the pushback it used to be. tho im unsure on the EX one.

That combo that you're talking about does a ton of damage even when blocked. Another reason Kung Lao is overpowered.
 
best way to beat kung lao, is to honestly be patient. if he does a spin and you know the scrub is gonna attempt another one cuz you can't counter, just don't even think about it. use projectiles when you know it's safe, like as he's recovering and make sure you're at least a half screen away. never ever try and attack lao with strikes from a recovery, you're going to pay for it every single time, especially if they main him.

like i said, use projectiles when it's safe, scout out teleports and uppercut him. just look for combo opportunities and get the f*ck outta dodge. try not to jump as much either because the dive kick has priority over literally everything. idk who u play with, i main kitana so i just try to stick with g-plan if the lao player is a complete d*ckhead.

The ex spins recovery is a bit similar of what the normal version use to be.

I don't want to sound offensive, but I find it hard to comprehend with most of the complaints on this thread.

I believe we are going overboard with the stupid spin, how can you people ask for worser recovery for spin when he has a low and overhead hat mix-up? That is the only good tool he has left other than the enhanced spin, otherwise, he is trash. Don't wanna brag but I wreck Kung Lao's too easily because his spin is so risky now, just use bait tactics.

No one has not once mentioned his greatest tool, I don't even use him, but I know that his 2,4 into low hat or 2,4, 1+2 can destroy anyone and anything in Kung lao's way, its the best mix-up pressure I've seen from any character in a game, if you get hit by the low hat, you get staggered for more pressure. Fight a "good Kung Lao" that is all they choose him for besides enhanced spin.

I've found that all the complaints I used to have, were just delusions caused by my scrubiness.

Now that I rock socks, Kung Lao is my *****, Raiden rubs my nuts and Reptile paints my portrait while I am nude.

C.Sub-Zero still kicks my ass with his dive kicks though :mad:

Lol, I never had problems with Raiden, but I know he needs more work with his teleport, I'm not saying it should be as unsafe as Kung Lao's, but its definitely hard to catch in times where its punishable.

I think his teleport should either have a little more recovery, or his torpedo shouldn't be able to hit a crouched opponent.
Because as it is now, if Raiden teleports, he's either going to torpedo or grab.
And unless you are psychic, its a ***** of a situation to get out of.

i dunno if you can duck his torpedo that means you can crouch and all he can do is low poke. id assume at least. the problem is its punishable offline, but hard as hell online. is there a way to adjust it so its more punishable online without screwing it over offline?
 
i main KL, and hes not that overpowered. i ersonally hate fighting against a good kl, i always lose haha
also i am decent with him, but i have lost to many players when using him and they are using other low tier and lost.

so the moral of the story is, every one can be deadly in the right hands ;)

nope, worng again, his not over powered, he may have a nice arsenal of moves, but no over powered at all.

rules when fighting KL

1- Dunt jump on him unless you are 100% sure youl connect with a hit.
2- teleport is easy to beat by just duck and uppercut.
3- when in close combat, duck block, he has 1 over head that can hit that, and thats the f+2 hat.
4- find way to punish the spin, people cry about that they cant punish it, but when i miss? i get punished, maybe play better? or play against better people so you can improve? thats what i do :P

anyways, crying faul and OP on characters just shows you are not that good of a player for not adapting, i hated kano, and now i welcome them with an open SPIN :P
