Is the game already rated yet?

Just wondering, has the ESRB the game rated yet?
Cause i remember, some games in the past did not get a Mature rating from the ESRB cause of the violence. So the developers were forced to censore some of the gameplay to get the rating. I hope something like that does not happen to MK9, or is the game already thru?
 
Nope, the game is still pending its rating. I doubt' it'll get an AO rating though. It is definitely within the realm of mature. Dead Space 2 has some pretty brutal death scenes for Isaac Clarke, and they are almost even with the Mortal Kombat fatalities. The Cyrax one is still laughable that the net doesn't cut him into cubes.

I don't think we have to worry about the rating.

EDIT: actually. If you watch the ESRB opening in the Noob Saibot video it says it has been rated Mature.

It won't be reviewed or get a final rating until it's actually finished. The ESRB stuff on the vids is just referring to the content specifically in the videos, not the whole game. If they gave it a rating before it were finished, there's no reason NRS couldn't add something that would push it into the AO range instead of the M range.
 
Ed was saying they had to cut back on stuff in fatalities a while back because the censors weren'y happy but that could have just been him being ed and hyping it.
Also i hope stuff like that cyrax fatality making people actually cubes and peoples arms slicing off cleanly and not with a quarter of it still on with bone and flesh
 
Well lets hope it doesnt go into the USA AO range because then Australia will ban it! So worried we wont be able to have it here AND you say I can just import but our airports are pretty on the ball with stuff like this! and BANNED things coming through.
 
I am from Germany, and we do not even get the game here. Always the same here.

Come to think of it, the gore in God Of War 3 looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse then this and that didnt get banned or censored here. So maybe Im just being negative! :)
 
I do not even know why you are starting this topic today when yesterday the M rating with the description is on the Noob trailer.And a game has not got censored for violence in the US since Manhunt 2 for over 3 years by which that is a game where you are a killer that could rip off testicles with pliers.And now with God of War 3 having the kind of stuff it has I think this topic is ridiculous.

GhostK Ed Boon said that they threw out a few ideas, he did not say that the censors made him get rid of those ideas.
 
The game has to be finished now, come on guys really? We are in february now, its done. All theyre showing is months of old footage that has been edited, reviewed, etc.
 
MK2011 has already been rated M, so there is no point in a further discussion. With today's games, MK is not THAT violent or disturbing.

thats just ****ing gay! and proves my point that they are not even trying to make the fatalities good! man they could me making the best ones yet!
