Injustice made my PS3 become hot and turn itself off

Never had this before with a game.

I turned my PS3 on, put the game in and 3 minutes later I got a PS3 error message saying the PS3 was too hot and it should be turned off and that's what it did - turned itself off.

Not sure how it can even get hot in 3 minutes but that's what happened. Never had that happen before with any other game. I've had 5 hour sessions before with Street Fighter and MK etc and never had that.

Anyone else had this?
 
What model do you have? Friend of mine had to get a fan mod installed in his fat ps3 after having so many Fifa tourneys on it. Maybe check your fan, could be dust and dirt screwing with it
 
the fat versions tend to get clogged dust badly. i've taken at least 5 or 6 apart and can verify that it is a huge problem. if you feel confident enough to take it apart yourself and clean it, please do.
 
yeah that's a PS3 malfunction has to be.

unless your so into Injustice you played it 89 hours straight. Took an hour break and 3 minutes later it said it was too hot.

I don't see how a game could make the system checks get triggered when it's based on temperature within the console.


The same thing would happen with my old graphics card when the fan broke.

so look into what BBBLP/Squirrel said.
