I say they should not remove ANY characters in the next game, keep every character and just add new ones! Nobody wants their favorite character to be left out.
both smoke and sub-zero human, two cyborgs are enough. Smoke and sub-zero are much better as humans, don't like cyborgs lol
give it a rest already. let them tell the story how they want it for the time being.
For people who wants both Sub-Zero's in the next game, I don't think that should happen. Let's just say that human Sub-Zero will be in the next game and CBZ is no longer in the storyline (which most likely will happen as he'll be resurrected as a human), then it's going to be a pain for NRS to develop CBZ every MK game, even though he hasn't had anything to do with one since # years. NRS are going to be introducing a lot more characters in future installments, they can't keep a half dead roster in all of their games wasting all the space. Just keep Smoke a human and avoid him being a cyborg. He's a human now, you wasted your chances to make him a cyborg, now he remains a ninja. Now go back to human Sub-Zero, and creating the character who actually means something in the series.
Unless of course NRS actually sticks to their guns story-wise. Make Cyber Sub-Zero the canon character and then, unable to leave out one of MK's mascots, they make human Sub-Zero a non-canon character used only in Versus play and the like. I would much rather NetherRealm stick to the story they want to tell, regardless of which way it goes, rather then have them cave to the whims of a community that, no matter how passionate they are, are in no way professional writers. I'd hate to lose human Sub-Zero as a fighter, as he is arguably my favorite character, but I do not see continuing the present story and eliminating human Sub-Zero altogether as mutually exclusive.
I love the change. And for now, we have BOTH Pre-Cyber Sub, and Cyber Sub. And keep Smoke "human", as he is now... unless we are talking about haha funsies DLC.
I mean, they are both dead anyway, right? Who cares.
You should really put up spoiler tags I personally have finished story mode so it doesn't matter to me but I can see that your pretty new so I'm just giving you a heads up
I'd say you are the new one. We are already in the Spoiler Forum. And good job on judging someone's "newness" to a forum, based on their post count, since you weren't basing it on our join dates (which are almost identical) lol

Why continue the CBZ storyline? They ****ed it up. They killed him off early and as soon as he makes his first appearance he gets his ass kicked by Kabal, then once he gets his memory back he's just Sub-Zero in a robot costume. They wasted what they could've done with this, and now he's dead, so go back to human Sub-Zero while they have the chance. I know NRS have the right to tell the story they want to tell, but when they make the wrong choices the fanbase have to alert them, and that's what people are doing. If getting butthurt and acting like 5 year olds is the only way to prevent CBZ being the canon character in MK10, then people will.
Like I've been saying, that's your opinion. Congrats, you're allowed to have one. However, just because you don't like it and plenty of other people don't like it, doesn't mean it's s--t. I'm willing to bet very few people on this forum are fiction writers in any sort of professional way. Most people who don't like how Cyber Sub-Zero turned out, don't like him because NRS took away their favorite character or something similar, not because they actually think it was a poor storytelling move. Sub-Zero is arguably my favorite character in Mortal Kombat, but I respect the process of storytelling. I understand that the easy move isn't always the best one, that sometimes you have to take chances. Stories that take the safe route every time never get anywhere interesting. They're dull and trite and cliche and the people who like them tend to like them because the stories are so safe that they don't have to worry much about being confused, or upset, or worried. But sometimes, a good story does all three of those things to you. Sometimes a good story is about more than what makes people happy.
just because they are professional writers and we aren't doesn't mean that the fans should have no say on how to improve the story. i get what you are saying but we as fans are just stating our opinions on the matter at hand.
