In an interview where Boon mentioned Jason and Ash

I'd rather have Kyle Crane from Dying Light. I mean he's from WB after all.

I was actually thinking the same thing the other day. He does have 3 skill trees as well, so that could easily turn into 3 variations. However, I'm not too certain many people would know who he is :S
I myself tend to forget what Kyle even looks like half the time.
Vaas from Far Cry 3 has better luck getting in than he does I think

So help me, if Ash is in this game it's an instant main for me.

So long as one of his intros is "This...... IS MY BOOMSTICK!"

If Dying Light only had a female character who'd be as memorable as Jill Valentine or Ada Wong. *sigh*

Ash could easily have one Variation based on combos with his gauntlet, one based on range/more powerful attacks with his chainsaw, and then another with his normal hand holding the Necronomicon.

Ash is never going to be Mortal Kombat. Sam Raimi does not like having other people use his character without his control. He told New Line Cinema that they could not use Ash for Freddy vs. Jason 2. So I doubt he will allow Ash to be in MK.

And yet Ash was in Poker Night 2.

And the heathens didnt even get Bruce Campbell to reprise his role.

Not iconic in the slightest. Would probably sell like trash.

I really hope not. Would be boring. Too similar to Jason imho. At least at first look. I want mothaphuckin Spawn. I want magic.

I don't see them doing two horror characters in one game. They will likely balance it similar how MK9 had both Kratos and Freddy. One was horror and the other one was not. Spawn and Predator could fit as horror but I don't view them as horror that much. Spawn is more action fantasy with horror elements throw into it and Predator is sci-fi with some horror elements to it.

I'm guessing it will probably be Geralt to promote Witcher 3. I never played a Witcher game, but how is an RPG character to transfer over to a fighter? Then again, Link transferred into Soul Calibur 2.

Actually, quite well. Variation 1 focuses on hand-combat/swords, variation 2 on magic/spells and variation 3 on... hm... They definitely have considered it. Remember an interview post E3 where they talk about it. But I hope not. I really want Spawn.

Yeah, I think so too. But I still haven't ruled out Scarecrow, despite what people say about him being DC. He too, from a marketing point, makes huge sense. And then Spawn ofc. It has to be one of these 3. I'd be surprised if not.

Geralt would be an interesting choice, but him using Fatalities to brutally slaughter his defeated enemies doesn’t feel right. He’s just not that kind of character.

Possible but I also kinda doubt it. Geralt is not very well know outside of Poland. F.E.A.R 3 was released by Warner Bros and came out around the same time as MK9, but we never got Paxton Fettel as a guest fighter for DLC.

Paxton would be kinda badass. Never considered him.

I'll repost my thoughts on who the next guest can be:

5) Talion - Not an iconic character, but WB owns the rights and Shadow of Mordor was popular.

4) Geralt of Rivia - Not a very iconic character outside of Poland, but will become much more familiar to mainstream American audiences when The Witcher III releases in May. He might see a surge in popularity in the following months. WB is distributing the game in North America, so they don't need to work hard for the rights to use the character. It will cross-promote the two IPs and help sell copies of The Witcher throughout the year.

3) Predator - #1 in demand. Wins most polls and won THE poll. He'd be #1 on this list too if it wasn't for the fact that FOX, one of WB's rival movie studios, owns the rights. Precedent has been set by Predator's appearance in Call of Duty: Ghosts, but lending rights to Activision, game company, and Warner Bros, movie company, are two very different ball games.

2) Mad Max - The name is more iconic than the character, for sure, but WB owns the rights and is actually releasing a new Mad Max movie soon after MKX's release. The cross-promotion couldn't be any more opportune for WB. They could also port over the model from the Mad Max game to save on dev time, if they were so inclined.

1) Spawn - #2 in demand. NRS has rights to use him. NRS might feel he's more appropriate for MKX than for Injustice 2 because of the M-rating.

I hope it is Spawn, it just makes the most sense right? But I can see them kinda going "off the board" and picking someone not named Spawn or Predator.
