Hey gang, it's been a while for me. Hope all are well.
I honestly think that the worst thing about MK:A was the idea of putting everyone in. So many people were virtually the same as another guy. Didn't they learn their lesson from the feedback (primarily negative) on MK Trilogy? It's boring. I felt MK:A was a backward step.
Why is it that all of the Kombatants are alive? It's Mortal Kombat. I think we could have done without people that no-one really cared about. Kai? Peh. Jarek, Kobra and Kira, wow, isn't the Black Dragon desperate for members? Fujin, God of being pox. Shinnok, a fish. The Red Dragon, who cares? Stryker, ha ha. Stay dead. Nitara, doh, our vampire chick idea didn't work. Rain, why bother? Ashrah, I don't think I've seen anyone vaguely interested in her. Hax and Sonya Blah. I didn't cry when Khameleon was left out and, well, I'm not buying the Wii version for just her, I'll buy it on it's merits if it's worth it for the wacky control scheme.
Seriously, they are supposed to be fights to the death, I can understand occasional mercy shown and the odd escape, but Shang Tsung, Liu should remember 'fool you once, shame on me, fool you twice, shame on you'. Another thing is, these people can still die outside of the tournament, some have. Goro, how many times must you die? All the bosses bar Shinnok explode at the end of the games and yet come back, in Khan's case tougher, how come? You can always have new threats. Thanks to Noob Saibot not even the original Subbys dead.
Shokans, Centuars, Onis and Tartakans must have other champions, after all the Earth Realm and Edenia have heaps. So they are all replacable. MK8 is gonna be great, as long as they don't put too many people in, not everyone has to die either, some may not have cause to fight, which is reasonable.
Sorry about the rant folks. Catch ya later. :-D
