I just finished a match where I got DESTROYED... and I thought I was a great player!

I'd keep on fighting him. It would help u improve. I fought a guy on here yesterday. His quan chi straight up destroyed my raiden, kang and jade (my 3 mains). But with enough practice time with him I eventually became competitive and the matches were good. Granted I never got close to his quan chi but i inproved over time and against his other characters I was much closer, until I finally won one vs his reptile

I got challenged by this guy (xxxcloudmcstrife27 or something) who had like 1200 wins and 120 loss. So I decide to give it a shot... I like a good challenge.

We both play as Kung Lao.

Round 1 - Fight!

He teleports and starts one of these sequences of combos one after the other, whaddaya know I'm down to 20% health in under 10 seconds. And I sure as hell held down the block button all the time.

I combo him once or twice with mixups.

He does the dive kick x4 combo in the corner and I die.

Round 2 was a bit more decent, but still, I wasn't fast enough and couldn't compensate for the slight lag we had. He used each every combo/trick/mixup and mind game he could use and he got me. I know I couldn't block fast enough and he was moving all over the screen and countering me like I was a noob. I could drop his health down to maybe 50% but that's because he obviously took it easier seeing I was no match for him. Lag didn't seem to affect him AT ALL.

I thought I was at about 85% efficiency with my main (lotsa hours practicing with my main and all other chars. about 200 fights online), but seeing how he played, made me realize I still got a lot to learn. A LOT!

Have you had a similar experience where you thought you were pretty good with your char. but got owned online?

there are lot of people better than i am. why, because im a casual player. im not one of these terds that clock and and clock out with games. i play in spurts for fun. i dont play constantly to get wins because i think it actually means something in life.

You mean pro gamers? If I could get good enough to make somewhat of a living off playing video games competitively... I wouldn't mind "clocking in" to Mortal Kombat, and clocking out 8 hours a day to maintain my game. playing MK at a high level... or work a boring job. HMMMM...

If you mean... terds as in people who prey on newbs when they aren't even good themselves then by all means ignore my post :D

Emm, I'm a casual too. I just take my "casual" fights seriously.
I don't play all day.
I don't play to win (spam/exploits) but I play to do my best and get better.

Not sure how to interpret your quoted message...

I'll blame the internet ambiguity and just say:

"Hey, I agree man!"

I also play to have fun. Despite the lag monster rearing its ugly head. I've been training and doin a lil bit of online play. I'm also not the best but i have had opponnets rematch games like 10-12 times. Maybe cause i can somewhat hang with them and plus they give out pointers on what to improve on.

Trust me, you lost because of lag, im sure. Ive enough matches where ive massive lag and my opponent seems to have none at all. Also, KungLao is ****ing easymode in online mode.. just spam the shit out of his moves with no thinking and you win most games.

Wiat until online mode is fixed (lol... @ nrs and ed boon for taking so long.. **** you srsly) then it will be more "fair". Ive also seen lots of guys with Statistiks like 800:190 or smth like that, i play them and they choose 99% of the time one of these 3-4 Charakters which have big advantages in online mode because of lag and/or are OP in general. its nothing special tbh.

I don't think I ever gotten totally massacred other than when I first started playing and when people spam like jackasses. Up ball, Up ball, Up ball, Up ball, Knife, Knife, Knife, Knife, Up ball, Up ball, Up ball....so stupid.
