How would you feel about Mortal Kombat MMO?

I've been playing FFXIV MMO a lot lately.

And I was always thinking, "Man Mortal Kombat totally has the built up lore/factions/tribes" to make it a MMO.
But Mortal Kombat fans are fans of fighting games.

Would you support a Mortal Kombat MMO, If it played like Deceptions story mode. where you start off in a faction. Say for example, you pick Lin Kuei. They would have a base fighting game behind it. The Fighting game has 4 people under Lin Kuei. (equal amount per faction honestly). And encounters were basically just a fighting game battle instead of traditional MMO battle styles.

You make your own character, but you basically "just copy" the base moves of either Cyrax/Sektor/Subzero/Smoke (or others)

You traverse the lands to get small ways to "alter" your character. but never in a way that makes any more less or more powerful. You can "meet other fighters" and if you do enough quests/missions for them. you can "Unlock" say Sonya's fighting style if you help her faction.

I guess you can see where this is going.

If you hate it, you can just play the base game roster in normal Versus.

most MMO's have a subscription.

would you pay 12 a month. for every 6 months to get a patch update (with big changes) and every 1-2 years get an expansion.

Or fudge that, Stick to the traditional model, for Mortal Kombat games.

Not a fan tbh. Created characters devalue the main roster I feel. And I don't really see how an MMO fighting game could work. Where would teamwork come into play, how could raid bosses work, traditional 1v1 fighting sounds like it would make mobs tedious. Another big one would be the acquisition of fighting styles. How would they prioritize the characters? Would Smoke players have to jump through a bunch of endgame loops to access their mains?

I don't really play MMO'S, so obviously I don't have much insight into how the genre handles certain things. But this idea would take a lot of time to even draft concepts for I'd imagine

Tag team for team based play.

MMOs aren't restricted to "must play against a raid boss"

You'd fight bosses like you would any other fighting game. Now having trust in NRS to make interesting bosses I have concerns with. Their answer is always super armor.

I feel also obviously raid bosses would be traditional characters to make them seem powerful.

Like needing 3v1 against subzero to have a chance. Having created characters wouldn't devalue the regular cast members of you need multiple people to beat them.

There'd obviously be a difference in balance for PVP and PvE

Also about tag team. They'd have to make it 20x better than Mk9 where player switching is needed more often, and people on the bench have things they can do to help, or assist. So you don't feel like you're not playing the game. But people like Koth so who knows really

Also if you're not a fan of create a character. It could be a MMO where you just pick like sektor from the roster and you follow down a pre-set story path that the Lin kuei go down.

And when you team up with "other sektor" in a team match on your screen they are generic Lin kuei cyborgs, on their screen they are sektor and you're the generic Lin kuei cyborg.
