I have a 99% double flawless victory strategy for him

When the round starts

1.Back dash twice
2.He will do a projectile move
3.Teleport
4.Uppercut
5.Dash towards his downed body
6.Teleport as he is standing up (this will make you avoid his animation and cause your close means he will do a punishable animation)
7.Uppercut
8. Repeat steps 5-7 until round is over, i got double flawless using this

Note, I am talking about the Lui Kang vs Shao Kahn. However, I have to fight him AGAIN? Lawl this guys a ***** lol.

So pretty much with Lui Kang, its stay way from him and constant fireball?
 
How to defeat Shao Kahn on expert

So I've been trying too beat this shoulder-spamming-mofo with Johnny Cage. Nothing works. Saving up for xray does very little. I've tried:

- Fighting him for realziz. Blocking everything and getting small combos in. But then he uses his grab or 50% xray which is unblockable.
- Jump like a madman over him & uppercut. He uses his x-ray here also after a while. Its not possible to jump over, he grabs you anyway.
- Spamming with fireball from distance. He follows you like a stalker when he starts to get low on health. Shoulder-spamming all over the place.
- Shadow kick him away from me. Didn't work very well.

If there is anybody out the that has beat him with JC, PLEASE tell me how! Because im at 92 matches lost and Shao Kahn is 2/3 of those. Its possible with teleporting characters i guess, not so much else.

BTW THIS IS NOT FUN NRS!

yeah shao kahn is really rigged. I think its just a numbers game, if you try 1000 times, chances are there will be a fluke and you will finally beat him.

I think your best bet would be a character that can spam a quick attack from a distance. Like Noob's attack that launches his shadow at the enemy. Or Liu Kang's flying kick. Any attack that stuns from a distance is good against him. Other than that, it's probably impossible.

Wow... I can't believe it, I stuck away from him, he kept taunting, and I kept firing fireballs, he only threw spears and I ducked, I won BOTH rounds. This is BS, after like 30 tries I beat him kinda easily in one match by nonstop fireballing him at range. If you get far enough away and start firing he will keep taunting and throwing spears, and fireballs keeps him away.


And on gamespot one of the downfalls was Shao Kahn was incredibly cheap. It was also gay your super move does like 7% damage, and his does about 70% of your health.


And btw, I'm talking about the story line, not the arcade. So its a different thread.

No it isn't. Talking about how to beat Shao Kahn is talking about how to beat Shao Kahn, no matter what mode you are playing ;)

Omg it got moved to spoiler section. Everybody knows that Shao Kahn is the final boss on the arcade. You can see him on the top the second you go into the Ladder to play. My thread was no spoiler. This is not story mode talk.

Anyhow...I beat him when i reached my 111 round. What i did was got up real close and personal, and blocked for all it was worth. Then some short quick combos the second he was done with he's attack, and back to blocking. So after i got him down too half of his life, he started grabbing and getting me good so i started the jumping game. Jump+uppercut. You gotta learn his moves so you know when and how to react. And basically i got lucky. I had no life left and i got in a uppercut 1 millisecond before he hit me. I was lucky that he didn't do his xray this time around because if he lands one of those, your dead. i think swifi got it about right. Its a numbers game.

To beat shao kahn, assuming that you're Raiden... 4 hit combo.

teleport, FP,BP,FP,BP<---- You can block most of his attacks except for his xray move( you can also avoid it by teleporting right before he initiates it).

I beat him this way, I am sure that there are other ways.

PS: Khan is by far the most annoying Boss...ever.

You can beat him on any mode using this strategy. when the fight starts walk into him. he only has 3 moves to chose from, an up hammer, a neutral hammer, and a charge. almost all of the time it will be one of the hammers, when he goes in for the attack (which you can see coming from a mile away) port behind him (down, up) followed immediately by a 3,3,4 combo. the 4 will throw him, port to him again and wait for the attack, rinse and repeat. beat him on expert this way only getting hit twice in round 1 and thrice in round 2

I finally beat the Lui Kang vs Shao Kahn, now I'm doing raiden. So pretty much teleport a lot? Uppercut if I can, and ele bolt him? I know The lUi kang I spammed fireballs at range and got him, but this only worked after a few dozen tries.

Some people are talking story mode in here and not everyone has played story mode yet so, yes, the story mode comments are spoilers for some. This is why I added it to the title so people will be warned that some story mode comments appear in here so if they don't want to be spoiled, don't read it.

I give up this boss is being an ass. He so hard I been playing on beginner mode since the game came out and all day today trying my hardiest to beat this boss and I think this game is starting to stress me out. Is there anyway that instead of beating the the boss that I can just unlock or buy quanchi?
 
I heard it was hard, and altough Shao Kahn spams like hell i had him in my fourth try.
I used teleport whenever he taunted or did his projectile, and after the teleport the 3 kick combo, followed by torpedo.
Also when you have him in the corner, do the 3 kick combo, wich makes Kahn bounce, and you can follow it up with Raidens 4 punch combo, the one where he punches really fast, nice damage. (but only in corner otherwise use torpedo)
Shao Kahn is cheap, but i wish he was harder, to be honest, Seth in the orginal SFIV was harder, well if you knew how to beat him he was also easy but still.
