help with final boss

okay i suck at the game i had trouble with the "last boss"the first time i fought him, after numerous losses i finally am fighting him for the last time(eventhough if i mention names im sure i will not spoil it for anyone but i will not just to be sure) what is the best play to fight agianst him with using raiden?

My strategy with Raiden consists on staying as far as I can from him. If you stay close it's a death sentence, he has too much invincibility. Try to jump backwards over his green arrows. If he attempts to throw his hammer, this is your golden chance, teleport behind him and hurt him with a nice combo (I won't list any lenghty combos for you, the 3-4 hits combos available in the moves list will do just fine). If he taunts, do the same, or launch an electric bolt, or use the torpedo move. If you feel you'll get trapped in the corner, jump upwards and use the torpedo move (don't teleport...). Shao Kahn also blocks rarely when he's close to you, use an X-Ray (if available) if you're trapped in the corner and he's punching the hell out of you. The most important thing is to never trade direct hits with him.

thanks i was trying to go toe to toe with him before like i did with liu kang which did not end well so i assumed that the boss was much harder than the first time i fought him, thanks agian i just need to beat him then im happy :P
 
i was just a cheap bastard really. id duck the spears, and wait for either hammer or one of his taunts, then id do raidens flying attack, back up (because he always did a hammer attack on wakeup that cant be interrupted) do one combo, then back up again to repeat.

I actually use the opposite strategy, I rush with dashes and jump over him and do a BnB combo or an uppercut after he misses. When hes down dash dash jump over him right as he's getting up, he will usually do some slow attack and you can combo. Rinse and repeat. The KEY to this strat is you counter his attacks, if you attack him straight up he will murder you due to his invincibility.

His attacks are super slow, dance around him he cant hang.

This works for every character in the roster and on expert

EDIT: forgot to mention... only use combos that put him about jump distance from you. If it takes more than 2 dashes to get to him it will take to long and he will use a ranged attack or his charge. An uppercut puts him the perfect dustance but does less damage.

I find your strategy dangerous, not to mention he can X-Ray you from this distance. But if it works, why not :).
 
Dont worry man is to obvious who is the final boss.

Do this, go as far as i can from him, until you get full screen distance, now wait for him to throw you a hammer or a spear, teleport and kick his back with 3,3,4 (PS3=X,X,O XBOX=A,A,B) or do the superman, and repeat.

Yeah just use what works, there's risk in the strat I described but if you get the timing down he's super easy with it. Got a double flawless on him with a character I didn't even know how to use once (Sheeva) with nothing but uppercuts
 
you can also fool around with story mode difficulty switching it between beginner and medium. Though i didn't really not ice any difference with shao kahn. in the end i just abused Raiden's Teleport and uppercuts it was the only way.

it's funny though... cause i'm doing Arcade on Medium and i've found Shao Kahn not as hard here.

I'll second this. Works perfectly. If you are at a distance, teleport when he throw the hammer and combo. Kahn is too easy.
 
The most annoying thing I found about this was that I'd got into the routine of teleporting behind and using the fly attack when he attacked. But when I used this to counter the hammer throw I'd catch up with the damned thing causing me massive damage. LOL
 
havent seen one of these threads in a while, i remember when the game first came out and everyone made, LAST FIGHT HARD threads. lmao....

when you cross up shao kahn with jump ins, your not worried about x rays because when hes x raying, all you gotta do is jump kick since your already in the air or youve already jumped over it

i kick him out of xray everytime :/ well maybe not everytime but most of the time ^_^
 
thank you everyone for the help(minus smoke1ne) i created this thread because those other threads are old and people have found new ways of beating him since then, how does spamming Raidens projectile? though im happy to try any of the other strategies but i still dont want to go anywhere near the bastard :P
 
You can only spam with characters like stryker (handgun) and Kratos (bow) and you need to be fast for an easy double flawless. You can't spam with Raiden though as his bolts are much slower. Plus you won't be able to block his arrows or jump over them since you'll be stuck in the "projectile launching" animation. It's a very bad idea in my opinion. Keep a defensive stance, don't play with fire, punish him when he taunts or throws his hammer, and you'll be just fine :top:

Your either an idiot or a troll. There are NOT any new tactics to defeating shao kahn since the first week of launch.

Use search or die.

take your own advice, i can say that most users have a purpose here, your just pointless, you create useless tier lists, your just pointless, if you want to do something for everyone and leave this thread, everyone else here has decided to take their time to help me and i really appreciate that, you just came here because your under the dellusion that your a mod or your somewhat important at all.
