It was an investor call. It reeks of desperation.Weird way to announce the game by a random conference call and not the Game Awards. Hopefully we'll get some gameplay soon...
MK12 will have a lot to live up to. Because if SF6 keeps racking wins and their open world idea will prove to be successful, then MK12 will have to do better, than just make MK11 2.0.Max brought up a good point in the fact that Street fighter 6 and MK12 are releasing in the same year. Reminds me of SF5 and MKX all over again. It will definitely be a interesting to see how both games stack up to one another. It crazy how three of the biggest fighting game franchises of all time are set to release literally months from each other.
Aye. I imagine out of desperation they are throwing entire "secrecy" out of the window. They are just pushing everything out. They really need those wins. It's a ballsy (or foolish ) move from WB and NRS Ether way you look at it. The funniest thing about all this is Boon still playing dumb about it on twitter. You can't make this shit up. WB must be sick of his trolling ass Lmao!

That just adds more to the theory of desperation.it's little "strange" that the Mortal Kombat 12 is going to release this year; April is very close (too close), other months for releasing Mortal Kombat games are more likely uncommon, it's almost tradition to get hands on Mortal Kombat games in April. Also October and September in the past years. We will see![]()
So the MK11 Reveal was 3 months before (17.1.2019) official release in April (23.4.2019). IF the MK12 releases sometime close to Street Fighter 6, then March 2023 could bring us some (big) news. If it releases later in the year (around October or November 2023), then the reveal could happen around SF6's release date in June. These are only speculations and calculations. Just (over)hyped curiosityNRS will most likely hold their own press event. They did the same after they announced MK11 at the VGAs. E3 has been a dead horse for marketing any big AAA game at this point. Most of the big third party publishers now a days just hold their own press events. I don't see MK12 being any different.
I hear you, but you have to take into account that things are different now. WB is bleeding money and now it is Zaslav who is the CEO. The Mr.Cheap, the guy that threw a complete "Batgirl" movie into a trash bin, just to save on costs.NRS will most likely hold their own press event. Trust me, it is much cheaper to have someone house your event, rather than do everything yourself. A lot of management headache goes away.IMO they have too much competition coming this year to just tease a trailer at E3 and hope for the best IMO. If WB's CEO is too cheap to announce the game in any traditional way than I seriously doubt he's willing to fork over the money to advertise at E3 Ether. Worse case scenario is just 3 of them sitting on a couch showing the game that way. Best case scenario is a reveal event for maximum exposure. They're not going to get another billion out of gamers taking the cheap way out IMO. Like you stated countless times...They desperately need this game to succeed and with SF6 and Tekken 8 hot on their heels they won't get there without some marketing push IMO. E3's not the Titan it once was. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all pulled out of E3 years ago and just do their own events now. Sony owns EVO now so my guess it will be teased there like Tekken 8 was... after that a full reveal event wether it be a video or press conference. That would give them three months if the game does release this fall/holiday season.
