After 30 days of fasting, isn't eating more exciting than getting gifts? I'm assuming you're allowed to eat at night, so you're not completely starved, but still....

It's not compulsory to give gifts. And the main reason we fast is to not only abstain from food but also other bad stuff and to feel the suffering of the poor and needy and also to remember God more.

True, during Ramadan, once, I fasted, but was VERY RUDE/BAD, it doesn't count unless you are kind!
