Real MK fans love all different characters.
The palette swaps are boring, outdated and should all be consigned to the Netherrealm. MK 2011 would have been much better if it had focused on the later characters and brought in some new characters instead of rehashing the same tired old mainstays.
The newer (MKA - MK:A) characters are better.
Wow. Do you know anything about MK at all? MK went downhill after the series went 3D. What made the game famous was the use of the digitized graphics and palette swaps. And like Jarvis said, its clear that the consensus of fans love the old characters better than the shitty 3D ones, otherwise they wouldnt have made this reboot. If they continued in the way they were going, do you think this game would have the same amount of hype it is receiving now? NO it wouldnt, you know why? Because this game is a recreation of the first three games, the glorious games of mortal kombat before they ruined the game by taking out most of the favourites from MK4, switched to 3D and provided horrible gameplay and overexposure. Therefore it is clear that the majority of the fan base find the new characters to be a waste of space, otherwise NR would not have done this. And dont start any of this real fan bullshit, fans are entitled to whatever the series provides, but if a clear majority thought the 3D games werent up to par (which is true) and the MK team realizes that, then that should be the way more of us should think about the game.
