Co-creator and Creative Director Ed Boon just tweeted the announcement that the next game's title is Mortal Kombat X.

If we go along with yesterday's Amazon leak it would imply that the game will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC. But we've not yet received a press release confirming this.
And as promised, Ed had more. Here's the Announcement Trailer, which includes an original song "Can't Be Stopped" by Wiz_Khalifa and reveal's the game's release date of 2015.

This isn't gameplay yet, but it looks fairly close to in-engine graphics so it may give you a good idea what is in store. It's also possible it's teasing usable weapons in the stage, hopefully they take the old game's weapon systems with some Injustice style refinements.
There are many questions that remain.
1. Is the "X" pronounced as "Ten" or "Ecks"? I'm going with "Ecks" since it'd be silly to call this "Mortal Kombat Ten" after the last game was simply "Mortal Kombat". Confirmed via Twitter, it's "Ecks".
2. Why is Sub-Zero not a cyborg? He appears to have some cyborg features though, with the eyes glowing like that. Time will tell, we have a long way until 2015 and a lot of information yet to be revealed.
3. How much of that trailer is in-game assets? It looks glorious and hopefully indicative of what the game looks like but it's all CG and not gameplay at all according to Digital Dimension the company who did the CG work for the trailer.
4. Will there actually be stage intractable weapons? Looks possible, time will tell on how much of that is part of the game.
