Earbuds

Who knows about them? I usually just get the $20 Skullcandy Ink'd ones, but they always crap out in about a year. The end of the cable is always where it messes up and makes one side not work, like the aux end that you plug in. It'd be great if it went out and to the size instead of directly out. Also what are drivers? They are usually 11 or 10mm. Is bigger better?

I don't know what to get exactly. I want some that wrap around the ear because 95% of the time I use them is for fitness. I don't need water resistant ones but it coudln't hurt. I'm looking to spend less than $100. I use the generation 1 Zune 30GB if that matters. People make fun of it, but it can survive the apocalypse. Just like Nokia phones. haha.

Here is an example of the style that I'd like. But any suggestions are welcome. They don't need to be this style, it's just something I had in mind.

Seems like no one cares, or knows anything about earbuds. But anyways....

Long story short, I got some New Balance ones, and they are absolute trash. Returned them and got some Yurbuds Ironman Series earbuds, and they are awesome.

Pros:

Don't fall out at all, hardly even move while running.

Cloth cord so they don't tangle.

Decent sound for the price, $50.

Comfortable, but could be slightly better.

Cons:

They don't noise-cancel as much as I'd like, but they aren't too bad. This wouldn't warrant me taking them back, but it could be better.

Cord goes out from the AUX input at an angle, which is better than straight out like most. But I'd like one that went out at 90 degrees to prevent pressure damage against the input jack, which is usually how mine break. 45 degrees is still better than nothing though.

I've always stuck with my classic Apple earbuds. I never really found the need to get Skull Candies or Dre Beats.

Too much money on something like that.

I'll stick to my $300 Sennheisers. I love these things. Skullcandies are good for like a few months and then they shit out (like what IR said in the OP) and Beats are a waste of money. Sound quality isn't that great and they're completely over priced. You're basically buying the name when it comes to Beats, not the quality.

Every time I'm out and I see a kid walking around with Beats around their neck, I just want to rip them off, step on them and punch the kid in the throat.

+1. Sennheiser are true studio-quality headphones. They're great studio monitors, and I happen to like their almost-flat, but slight raised low response. Very comfortable too. I've had my current pair of HD Pro series circumaural headphones for like 5 years now.

I'd want to do the same thing if someone spent $300 on some earbuds....

Yeah. Studio-quality monitoring headphones are generally developed for recording and mixing music. :) That's why I originally got my Sennheisers too (bought it for use with my recording interface).
