does anyone care about Reiko??

I never see anyone talking about him, he's the most mysterious of all mortal kombat charactors (sp) because we don't know much about him, all we know is that he's a brother of the shadow member & that's all we know about him

(the other reason I'm ranting about this is cause he's my fav. from mk4)

& wouldn't it be nice 2 have him back & solve his mystery as to why he had shao khan's helmet...wait sorry I forgot that was a what if so n/m that

anyway I want Reiko back in mk7 as a normal playable charactor so lemme know wut you think

Dude, it had nothing to do with the fact that you made a Reiko thread-- it had everything to do with the fact that you made a thread asking a question that's been discussed to death and answered numerous times already. We all know exactly why you made the topic, but threads asking for information that's already been heavily circulated always get locked. It's nothing personal at all, but it is a "newbie" question that gets asked and frowned upon. Special Forces told you pretty much everything you need to know about it, but if you need more, use the search function, or even ask me and I'll help you out.

Anyway, on the topic of Reiko, I never really cared for him and didn't think he was that original, so I'd rather not have him back in the next game.

With all due respect, thats not entirely true. A lot of facts contradict what others say. He may or may not be Kahn. It hasn't excactly been 100% proven and is constantly contradicted. Its kind of an unknown factor. Thats why I wanted to discuss it. I didn't really get the chance to before it was locked. Thats alright though. I was just warning this poster about his comment...

I wanted to discuss that but it got locked. I know it was nothing personal. I was just trying to help out the_boss195. :)

On topic, I would like it for Reiko to return. He wasn't one of the characters I used personally, but his story needs a lot of fleshing out. Kai, Fujin, and Stryker need to come back so we can get more story on them.

Actually it has been 100% proven. All this stemmed from was the ending in which Reiko put on Kahn's helmet, which was brought up in Konquest mode in Deception to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Reiko is not Shao Kahn, for anyone who still wondered. There's no contradiction, it was just an ending made to screw with people, and it worked. Boon has even said that Reiko isn't Shao Kahn and that the ending was just made for shock value.

Remember that there has been absolutely nothing else in the series beyond that ending to ever imply that Reiko was Kahn. That wasn't even the official MK4 ending, it was only added later to MK Gold and the GB conversion of MK4.

Reiko rules. In MK4 he was unbeatable if you knew how to play him. I think all the mystery and controversy is what makes him stick out even more. I think the main thing that hurt Reiko is his appearance in MK:Conquest, he looked and acted like a wuss.

Just a quick summary of Facts:
1) Boon said Reiko was not Kahn
2) In Konquest mode in MKD, Reiko and Kahn are 2 distinct people. Shao Kahn even berated Reiko for sneaking in his room and putting on his helmet.
3) The Gameboy Ending (which was the only thing that supported the Reiko=Kahn thing) was not created by Midway. The development company took their own personal liberty to expand upon his ending. Not sanctioned by Boon nor Midway.

Kredit goes to ]{ombat for being the sole endorser and promoter of the the Reiko=Kahn theory. I can't believe he fooled so many people.
 
If they bring Reiko back, they need to give him an actual story. He was a huge unknown in MK: 4 and they just kinda left it there. Now we get characters like Kobra to flesh out. :roll:
 
every game since III has had wash out characters i think, examples: stryker, kai, hsu hao, hotaru. characters that were original but not well developed or particularly interesting. i dont think reiko is one of these though. he needs more limelight. also kintaro(eveyone says that though) and i never thought i would miss shinnok... but i wish they would do something new with him. he could be quite interesting in future games.
 
Thats never stopped them bringing back characters. The Cyborg ninjas didn't really have much of a story other then being death machines. then they introduced two of them back into the storyline.

Ermac as well is another example of a waste character reused... He wasn't important, yet once again he is in the game.

Reiko could be brought back, if they wanted to... IF being the word though.
 
I mean no offense to anyone as this is just a personal preference but i really do not like reiko. He is simply put just not my cup of tea!
 
Meh. I would prefer sektor coming back rather than reiko. and shinnok both favorites and reiko just looks kinda likr rain... but different

but if you REALLY want to see him. in mk:d ( ill bet you alredy know this) battle in the dark prison youll see him (along with other mk charecter) in the cells

An yeah screw Reiko. We need Sektor's rockets in 3D.
 
IMO Reiko is a really cool character, and we all know the really cool characters get overlooked(*COUGH*MAVADO*COUGH*), and I would love to see some attention for him in a future MK game where a storyline for him is created and elaborated on, and we find out more about his past. Sorta like Noob/Smoke's ending from Deception.
