Do Variations have a future in MK?

Sorry, I still don't see how some characters' moves that were given to another or have a very similar presence towards another takes away a character's spot.

If Noob was to actually be in this game, I'm fairly certain that a variation of his using his clones versus Johnny's A-List would be two different variations that have nothing in common with them. I mean, they probably would make it where Johnny would have something else happen and give what he has to Noob.

Like at the very beginning with the whole Cage family bologna, many people kept thinking that Cassie was going to play too much like Johnny because she had the nut punch, but that was clearly shown that she wasn't going to play like him. Then, it went towards Sonya. The moment we got to see how Sonya is played, that got thrown under the bus. (I mean who really saw that Sonya was going to have a drone with her?)

Sure some characters have things in common with another, even if they're not related whatsoever, but it doesn't mean that it took the spot from another character.

Had Jade be in this game, I'm sure Kitana would have a different variation that would have been cool to see.

Oh I know. I was kinda trying to play devils advocate. I agree if Noob was planned to be in the game from the get go, I'm sure johnny wouldn't have Stunt Double. But I still think that eventually if you are getting into 100 of variations per game some won't differ from eachother. I guess even Blood God, and Sorcerer are similar (Buff builds)

We've had witnesses to back that up since Day 1; specifically speaking, Patrick McCarron and Viking_Poodle (the former of whom played it at E3, the latter of whom played it at another event), yet people STILL had the audacity to ignore eyewitness accounts. Leave it to spader (who has since been banned) to take the last move of a dial-a-kombo to make his claim that Cassie DID play like her parents (even when confronted with eyewitness accounts to the contrary).

Sorry if this seems to be backtracking a bit, but as far as variations go, they're cool and I like them in MKX, but from here on out variations in this form isn't something I'd go for. I feel, instead of the variations being kept separate they could have blended aspects of them together. Because if you make a whole other variation dedicated to like 2 or 3 special moves it seems kinda lame, but if you only have the one moveset and add those elements to that one it translates a little better, then again just my thoughts on the matter.
