Do minor spoilers ruin MKX?

Do you think it's ok to know about everything being leaked or revealed? What is your personal deadline? I think knowing too much can ruin the game. This is also the reason why I usually don't want to see more than one movie trailer.

For me it's okay to know the characters being revealed but story is a no go. I don't want to know that much.

It's okay to see the final roster but the way characters get revealed is also very detailed. We know the X-Ray and the first fatality of all characters revealed so far. I think it's too much. They shouldn't show everything.

What do you think? What is your personal peak?

Same here.
I just want to see the full roster, and see which are the characters that did and didn't make the cut, and the total number of new characters.

Yep. I'm becoming wary of following the comic because of all the Kotal/Mileena stuff we're finding out.

If I hear the main plot has leaked I'll probably stop visiting MK forums and such, unless the spoiler tag policy is actually followed by posters here.
About game modes and playable characters, I want to know when it comes out. But I'd rather not know everything, like, all the special moves and alternate costumes and such. It's nice to check out this and that after I have the game in my hands.

Oh god what have you done creating this thread?? Do you realize the amount of troll this is going to attract? XD

Anyways I think Commander has the right idea. I would like to know the roster and that's it. I think it would be a lot of fun to use the full roster for story speculation.

I don't want any story spoilers, but if I can I want to know the entire roster before launch. Yes, we see their fatalities and X-rays, but I don't care about those things. We don't feel how they play. That's plenty to look forward to. I knew everything possible about MK9 going in, and it still ended up being my favorite MK up until then, and a game in which I sank hundreds of hours into.

Yup, 100% agreed. I would like to know the roster and nothing else. Although I would also like 2 secrets characters that you unlock after u finish the story mode

When the spoilers dropped for Mortal Kombat:2011, I could not stop myself from reading them. I was a bit peeved with myself but I still enjoyed playing the game.

I read them myself and what I did was use the subtitles to create a comic in my sketchbook to predict who was saying what and I was pretty spot on with some of it lol

It didn't matter to me tho cause it was only text and I was still hype as to see the actual cutscenes.

I don't mind spoilers at all, especially the final roster!

In MK9, I was OUTRAGED by the fact Rain was left out while Quan Chi and the abomination called CYBER SUB-ZERO was in. I couldn't believe they had created a new character for Kuai, a cyborg that took other character's specials and animations. Not to mention the disappointment that Motaro was not there. That being said, we KNOW Takeda, Jacqui, Sonya, Jax, Johnny, Mileena, Fujin and Erron Black WILL BE in the main roster anyway. We are still left with many spots to fullfil in the select screen.

I don't want ANY spoilers, specially of the story.

I just can't imagine knowing the story mode. There is no reaction for knowing that.

Everything is too good, reading the comics, catching some things from the intros.

Though I'm dying to know what will happen, I want to see it happen, at the least, because I want to make it happen, whatever it comes.

I'm 100% relaxed about the roster, so I don't want it spoiled too.

Wouldn't ruin the entire game. Knowing that Kotal Kahn is Sonya's cousin in law wouldn't make the gameplay less crisp

I also want the roster. But sometimes the roster has story spoilers. (Cyber Sub-Zero anyone?)

That was more of an Ed Boon spoiler.
Ed Boon had been saying at every event leading up to MK9 that "a character that wasn't cyber before would be cyber, this time around."
The forums were swarming with people saying "that's Sub-Zero who will be cyber."

I didn't find out anything new about the MK9 story that wasn't rumored or spoiled by Boon and others.
MK9 was essentially the MK1 thru UMK3 roster with Quan Chi, CSZ and Kratos, and Kratos was also revealed in December, so no big surprise there either.
I don't see how knowing the roster spoils the story.

I wasn't able to tell who lived and died just by looking at the MK9 roster, given that getting killed in story mode =/= unplayable in MK9 and vice versa (Rain and Kenshi).

Not to mention the disappointment that Motaro was not there.

That must have been a fun design meeting.

"Oh my god, we have to make Motaro in 3D again."
"The fatalities will get screwed up..."
"We have to design custom animations for throws..."
"God damn Motaro."
"Wait... hold on. Isn't the story of this game about Raiden changing the past?"
"Yes."
"And in the past, didn't Motaro kill Johnny Cage?"
"Yes."
"So can't we just have Raiden kill Motaro to save Johnny Cage, before Motaro gets a chance to fight anyone?! It'll fit so seamlessly into the story, no one will ever realize we did it to make our own jobs easier!!"
"So that means..."
"..."
"God damn Johnny Cage."

I'm totally cool with them not making Motaro a boss, but to not even give him lines in the story mode was hella whack.

I think it's interesting to know how much some users want to know before playing MKX.

It's difficult to compare MKX with MK9 because every average MK player could imagine the MK9 roster and predict the story since it's a "retelling" of MK1-3. With MKX it's another situation. I can't wait to play the story mode!
