Dead or Alive 5

Having bought the full game, DOA5U is amazing, it actually feels like a DOA game considering so many things were missing from the original.

Damn I need that full game. It only $39.99 after all.

What I like most about DoA5U is the tutorial. Has so much depth to it. Other fighting games should be taking notes of this. This is how tutorials should be done. Another thing that awesome is you could upload your gameplay to YouTube. No other fighter has this feature aside from Street Fighter III #rd Strike Online Edition.

I don't like the AI of the tutorial. Way too hard.
I'm not even used to the movement yet and the game is trying to make me land a juggle on an opponent that's holding all of my attacks

Won my first match. Dropped Mila's weak ass for Pai.

I've got a good feel for combos and offense, but defending against shit in this game feels so weird to me.

I'd call it more aggressive any day.

Which is also why I want KI because of how intense it is. Rounds in DOA5 are faster than anything, which is why a lot of people set it to that you need 3, not 2 rounds to win.

I never got down holds, so I just relied on my defense, and mix-ups. My power-blow combo was pretty simple with Mila, so it would get held all the time.

My Tina was on-par though. Slamming hoes left and right. And Rig has some serious offense.

Bish.

That's why I want to get into KI. Tired of the extensive zoning from NRS games. MK will always be my favorite fighter, but damn I hate how they always favor teleports and zoning so hard.

After signing up on the competitive DoA site learned that for directional inputs they say it in numbers instead of down, back, etc. Instead 1= diagonal left, 2=down, etc.

I honestly like DoA better than Tekken. The learning curve in DoA is not like Tekken where it takes super long to get good with a character. In DoA you could be good with plenty of characters within a few months.

Also on the MK zoning, MK always were heavy on Zoning. Even the 3D MK games as well. If you play Street Fighter it will be worse. Try getting to Ryu with a slow character like Zangief lol. The only thing that will await you when trying to get to Ryu with Zangief is a projectile to the face lol.

At least Hadoukens travel at the speed of smell.
Not like bullets that move at the speed of . . . bullets.

I could never like DoA more than Tekken. I'm a King for life

The old 2D MK games had teleporting and zoning, but not nearly as much zoning. Especially with the run button, you could get in their face immediately.

I like DOA more than Tekken, by far. I just never really got into Tekken for some reason. Directional inputs changed to numbers is really good for DOA combo notation.

Well the exception is the MK3 games(MK3, UMK3, and MKT). MK2 was basically a zoning war. Maybe they should bring back the run button in the next MK game?

Yeah DoA I think just has more interesting characters and the learning curve more easy than Tekken. It interesting that DoA uses numbers for the directional inputs. Never seen that done.

Soul Calibur does it. So does KoF if I remember correctly.
It's mainly used in games that recognize button notations as letters.

Like a lot of games, competitive Tekken uses numbers to notate attacks (1, 2, 3, 4). So up forward right kick translates to uf4

Whereas Soul Calibur has letters (A, B, K, G) so they dictate movement with numbers to avoid weird looking notations like bb (back B whereas someone might recognize it as back back)

Well I know what the numbers are for the punch and kick buttons are referred to as 1,2,3, and 4 and uf4 is basically between the movement of up and forward plus circle.

Though I do say it a bit weird with the numbers for the directional inputs. Im use to it just being df, uf, etc. Though it not hard to grasp at all. Though someone who completely new to these kind of inputs can be confusing at first especially if you look at command input someone posts that says 266H+K

I doubt we will ever see another MK game with a run button, but that could be pretty interesting if they were to do that. MK2 was jump kicks and uppercuts that do like 20% damage. What are you talking about? haha. My main BnB with Liu Kang back when MK2 came out was 11111111111111111111111111 until they were out of range, then bicycle kick or flying kick.

Well some people said there would never be another 2D MK game again and we now got that so anything is possible.

in MK2 you had Mileena sai's(you can zone all day with this), Liu Kang fireballs(again you can zone all day with it), and a few others too had that. Of course when someone zoning and you try to go up close to them you eat an uppercut or a roundhouse kick.

MK2 is fun game though but those uppercuts and roundhouse kicks doing that much damage were absolutely ridiculous.

good game. my sis just got it and is a beast at all of the doa's. whooped my ass with every character in it lmao smh, and im pretty good with ein, jaan lee, hayate, and ayane. plays a lot more like part 4 meaning its a lot faster than regular 5 was.
