Now a little back i read what you guys were saying about game copying. Now in the most part it is wrong, but I have copied some ps2 games, i am not a rich man I work very hard to support my family and give them what ever i can, and as a treat every now and then i rent a game and copy it, i ahve had my mod chip for over a year now and i only have 4 burnt games and about 20 bought games. I did not feel sorry at all for burning MK:D for the simple fact that this boon and boys 7th or 8th MK game and i have bought 6 of them, now it basically the smae stuff repackaged and updated. i love the mk series and will play it in the future.
just wanted to say that
Peace

I don't really see anything wrong with burning MK:D either..it really didn't live up to what boon said it would be and boon is a real asshole so I definitly don't feel sorry for him.put it this way,I'm renting the next MK rather than buying it...I've kinda lost hope in the new MK games..they still haven't been able to beat MK2 and probably never will if they stay with Midway. or if boon just wants to be a jagoff like he was on fight night and screw over his fans.

MKD is extrmeley fun, but its getting worser. My reasons:

Good graphics take time.
3D enviroments
Not enough fatalites.

If they meant for their games to be stolen, they wouldnt sell them in stores.

I have 3 kids and I have 2 jobs and I still saved up over the course of 8 months for MK:D & GTA:SA.

No excuses. Piracy is Piracy. Stealing is stealing. And this is why games are still $50.

Games have been always been about the same value whether it was cart or CD. The price is set on market value for a particular game, not because of your bogus theory on piracy. I don't think gaming companies are living check to check. Same can be said about those fucking greedy recording artists. Piracy isn't hurting either industry or the consumer, it's just hurting the profit margins.

wow

wow.. I actually agree with mahalo somewhat..

If I have zero dollars and I wouldn't be able to spend any money on a game/music but I pirate it, are the game companies/music industry really losing money?

I'll admit that I've pirated games/music before, but as soon as I got the money I bought it.

I fully believe in backing games/music up.. How many times must I pay for it? If I've ever payed for an album or game in the past, but I've lost it, or it's been stolen, or it was scratched or something, I have no qualms about downloading it from somewhere.

"Because of the strong sales of MKD in US and approving of the game for International markets, they expect Midway Games will have its first profitable Quarter since 1999. "

I really can't agree with software piracy in any way. It is hurting the industry, contrary to what you think. The software companies are not making as much money because of it, and therefore they don't have as much money for R&D. That, in turn, affects the consumers through the production of substandard software.

As for the music industry, it should all be free. If they want to make money, they should go on tour and sell t-shirts.

I think you are picking and choosing based on a biased opinion. If you are going to be against piracy for one, shouldn't you be consistent with all forms of entertainment? Video gaming industry is going to surpass all other forms of entertainment soon, maybe it already does. The companies and workers for movies, music, and television are not hurting in any way. Why would you argue that piracy is hurting the gaming industry?

I think "piracy" or any other version of theft is just bad Karma. I know the giant conglomerates behing the promotion and distribution of this stuff don't really feel the sting, but the it's always the little guys that get hurt by it. If you busted your ass as a muscian, an actor, a software designer, a chef, whatever and you put all of your time and effort into something that not only is you job, but makes others lifes more enriched for the effort, you'd be pretty pissed if in like two seconds some little bastard just ripped you off. All that work and all you did is click a few keys and save a few bucks and screwed someone else in the process. Also if you think that piracy doesn't have an effect on consumer costs it does. It drives prices up and quality down and it's been proven. Besides the big money machines behind this will use any excuse to justify higher prices on consumer goods. Let's not give them a reason.
Finally I would like to say that yes I am a huge *&*(^%ing hypocrite, but I have learned things the hard way. I used to make copies of PS1 games a few years ago. I thought I was just saving some bucks and getting a good score. Karma has a funny way of paying you back. I seemed to suffer finacial losses elsewhere and in the long run I belive I lost more than I ever gained. I have learned the error of my ways and after seeing the negative effect of piracy I am decidely against it. Hate me if you want, but please give it some thought before you rip someone off next time. You wouldn't want it to happen to you.

I'm not picking and choosing, I just think that downloading a song to listen to isn't piracy. Music is free. They play it over the air for free. It should be free to listen to, no matter what medium it is communicated through.

I think that the gaming industry is affected in the same way that I spoke of before. The more we take from them, the less we get in return.

Music is most certainly not free. Companies pay big money to buy airtime and we have to listen to the ads. Nothing is free.
