Character heads

Hey,
It might seem as a nitpick to some of you, but do you think character heads should be a bit bigger?
It's not really that noticeable (or important for that matter) when you fight, only when the character stand still.

To exemplify what I mean, here is a little comparison:

JC and JCVD (the man who inspired him) :)

I hope these pics show what I'm trying to demonstrate.

I do see your point and it's accurate. Now, if it matters or not, that's another question. Can't really tell with all the face kicking and bone breaking that is going on at such a fast pace.

Well, I admit that I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
I also think it's odd that NRS designers didn't notice that (since they developed that whole anatomy X-Ray system).

It might be because it's a new art style and the artists thought the heads would look weird if they were bigger.

For JC, If you can't see clearly, His head was Copied and pasted on it. I can clearly see a paper outline, and his skin changes its tone from his neck.

Mileena's cans are way bigger than a normal human being, I don't think they were too worried about realistic character models

The head sizes are noticeably too small for their bodies and aren't anatomically correct. It's not a deal breaker, but it is kind of annoying. Especially when watching a video of two fighters doing jump kicks against each other, and you can't tell who they are anymore, because their bodies are so bloody and their heads are too small for any distinguishing characteristics.

Its the problem with Western fighting games, comics and cartoons. Everone is waaaaaaaaay too buff. Chicks look like body builders. I remember watching Spiderman back in the 90s, and wondering why everyone seemed to be juicing even like normal people looked like they could throw cars around. I don't know if it's some sort of complex, but I think the MK fighters could slim down a ton, look how they were in the 2d days, they looked like people that could exist. Now everyone looks like they should be playing for an American baseball team.

Thats kind of the point of the bad assery look they are going for. Its not supposed to reflect real life in anyway.

Having said that, a couple of guys should be more on the cut/lean side rather than the super huge Shao Kahn/Jax level jacked up.

I don't mind the very bulky look of some characters, but that head thing can really annoy the eyes in some shots.
On a side not, characters with masks on doesn't suffer from this thing, if you notice.
(I wonder if it's too late for NRS to change it at this stage of development)

In Tekken, for example, the head-shoulders ratio is perfect, IMO:
