OK time to address this. Kratos is not a part of the roster, he is a DLC add on for PS3 fans. He was added as a part of a deal with Sony to add more content in the PS3 version than the 360s.

On topic: I think since they've said numerous times that since Raiden has received the warning from his future self that the story will not go down a different path while staying the same in some areas. It could possibly be due to the warning that Chameleon never enters the tournament this time around. That's basically the point of the "warning" to get rid of some characters and bring in some new characters which will happen maybe in the next game or the one after that.

I'd rather use my brain to create something completely new and not just pulling out a third-rate character from an already recycled, worthless one: the Grandmaster of All Palette Swaps... :|
 
Chameleon shouldn't be playable, maybe make a cameo or maybe even just a few mentions here and there in somebodys ending or story mode but Chameleon is like Tekken's version of Ogre.

As unimportant as he is to some people hes still apart of the MK1-3 timeline and he is apart of the palette swap ninja guys.
 
I think the one thing that no one is grasping here is that Chameleon never had a story. His inclusion in Armageddon was pretty much the same as his inclusion in MKT - a novelty character. He was in, he had a pointless story (in what I thought overall was a pointless game) and there you have it. I guess I can relate to some people who think his design is pretty cool but he was never meant to be a serious character, just a neat addition to MKT. I don't even know why they bothered putting him in Armageddon, and I don't really think he has a place in this game. But hey, they're re-working everything so if they can make up a convincing story for im, then go for it.
 
They should have given the palette swaps a rest after MK1, imo...

Yeah, any character could be could with some rework (hell, they fixed Stryker) but we've already got a dinosaur ninja, so I could do without him.
 
Wow seriously? No one els likes him? Hes so much fun in trilogy and i dug him in armageddon too he probably shouldnt be main roster. But itd be cool if he was dlc with rain or something.
 
Shang Tsung is already the character designated to mimic other characters. If Chameleon gets into the game, even as DLC, I'd be super ridiculously disappointed. At least Shang Tsung has his own moves and playstyle when he isn't transforming into people. Chameleon was literally just a wasted character. Sure he looks cool, but I'm more about creative fighting styles. Especially in this new Mortal Kombat where they are trying to personalize all the characters 100% like Ermac.

Agreed completely. What I could deal with is if he was a character like Smoke in mk2. Unplayable. But you could fight against them through some random sequence, and he'd be very VERY difficult.
 

I enjoyed Chameleon in Proxcide's MK vs SF. ^_^

There's not much meat to his character (uninspired backstory, design, moveset). It wouldn't bother me if they never bring him back. That said, I also wouldn't argue against him being re-imagined. My fantastic idea has Chameleon as an undercover shapeshifter and PLOT TWIST.. he is really Khameleon too. He is also Jarek, Hsu Hao, Kobra, and every other crappy MK character in existence. He is swiftly killed along with his aliases and never to be seen again.. Or err.. he can just be forgotten and absent from the series with this new reboot. :D

I enjoyed that video too the first time I saw it. Was pretty pissed how the mk characters were bullshitted out of victory both times. Then it got super cheesy "You killed my friend." "Thankyou... Son". LOL. Yeah. Uh.. Other than that, I like your idea for chameleon haha.
