My point is not a matter of console wars. My point is lack of continuity. Its like a movie being released three times on DVD. It makes you ask the question, when will it ever end? When I spend good money on a movie, I want to get the best product possible. I can't do that when every, for DVDs, three are so years there is another release of the same damn movie with better and better quality. I say, do the best you can, and be done with it. Do you realize how many people get mad of Lucas for constantly rehashing and remixing the original Star Wars movies? There is the originals, the special editions, and the DVDs. Each has countless changes. Now no one in the fan base can agree on what version is best. This all would have been avoided if there where only the original release. Terminator 2 has three, if you look hard for them, DVD releases. Can someone please tell me why Terminator 2, although a fantastic movie, needs three separate DVDs? Companies keep milking the product for all its worth, rather than moving onto something new. Companies should do the best they can for a product, set it off to sea, and then move on. I can't stand when a company likes to milk the fans for cash, and the fans are too ignorant to realize this is happening. Mortal Kombat Deception is the same exact thing. Originals, Game-Cube, and soon PSP. Why not just stick with originals?
Or, if you do put it on other consoles, make it as even as possible? If Game-Cube has no internet, fine, the Game-Cube has all the other content. It only makes a mess when companies try to compensate for lost hardware. Game-Cube gets pity breaks because it has no internet. I think Nintendo didn't make the online adapter because they realized the only thing saving their system's name where the pity break bonuses it got for lacking internet. It was the only thing that made the Game-Cube version unique. Nintendo is just taking inadequacy and milking it. Its like a parent giving three children their allowance, and giving child Nintendo an extra five bucks for failing his test at school so he doesn't feel so bad about being the loser of the three. I am not inciting a console war. I am simply saying Midway, as well as Nintendo, are milking their fan base for money and that most of the fan base knows but is just too stupid to boy-cot or care. Its like Mortal Kombat is a drug and you're all addicted to it. Midway could punch you, kick you, rob you blind. Then smash you in the head with a rock. And roll you into the river. But as long as Midway promised you that the next Mortal Kombat is going to be better than ever, 99.99999% of the fan base would stand up, proud and blind as ever, and smile at Midway for their generosity and benevolence. I can't say if I'm more disappointed at Midway, or their fans. Midway's quality has been slipping. Not only did they deceive everyone bluntly with MKD. Now they released a Midway Arcade Treasures for the PC with no music in the installer. Midway is loosing their morals, their touch, and their quality. And the most frightening thing of all is, as long as there is one more Mortal Kombat on the way, 99.99999% of the fans don't care.
So, fine, support a once great company that is now screwing people over left and right. You're only hurting yourself and giving your money away to corporate video game giants that obviously don't even care enough to test their products, let alone care about you. Midway is not what it used to be, and its a shame that most of the fans don't see this, protest, and right these wrongs. It is as if they are so afraid of loosing that, oh so addicting, Mortal Kombat sequel that they will take any punishment and mistreatment to make sure they will get it.
I may or may not buy the game. I will never by MKD for GC. And I will probably always hold a grudge against Midway for what they've done to MKD. But over everything Midway did, could, and probably will do to the fans; I hold the fans to blame. Because you're the people that let Midway get away with what it does. As well as Nintendo. This is the last post I will make to these boards. I will remain of fan of Mortal Kombat. I will fallow, and hope that Midway and Nintendo get their acts together. But I will always look down an the ignorant fans, and hope that there are others, like me, who look to the future with a watchful and wise eye.
These be the last and final words I ever enter into this wretched board!
Good night, :!:
