its really hard to tell, so i'll tell you by categories:
MMORPG - i dont know what to choose between WoW and Warhammer... i think i'll go with WoW although WAR is very good too...
RPG - Dark Messiah of might and magic
RTS - Age of Mythology or Warcraft 3... i dont know..
FPS - Counter Strike Source
Race - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Fighting: UMK3, but untill the ne Mortal Kombat is released
Other shooting games: Just Cause 2
Old games: Super Mario World
Others: Minecraft

Castlevania Symphony of the Night for PS1. Easly the best I ever played.

On the most recent ones, Silent Hill series, Bioshock or Fallout are very remarcable stories and atmospheres to me. Specially Bioshock.

For me it is still the old Resident Evil on the PS1. No game till yet came even close to the music and atmosphere this game had. I still hoping for a remake on XBox and PS3 ;-) Whats yours?
