Anyone ever consider this?? (character speculation)

(Not sure if anyone has thought of this yet, so don't bash IF it's been talked about already)...but I was searching through the forums, came across a thread that had a certain photo in it, that I know EVERYONE (including me) has seen by now. First off...here's the link to the pic I'm referring to. **POSSIBLE SPOILER IN THE FOLLOWING LINK** http://www.netherrealm.com/admin/sites/default/files/employees2.jpg

Now then...yes, we all know that that is Smoke on his screen, an early concept or whatever...that picture isn't what interests me...what DOES interest me though, is this model of a reptile on the other screen. Could it be an early Reptile concept?...sure, maybe...Could it be an animality model?...HIGHLY doubt it, but maybe...also HIGHLY doubt that it might be Liu Kang's dragon fatality, cause it doesn't look ANYTHING like a dragon, or his dragon from the past.

But anyways, here we go...has anyone considered that this might be a model of Riptor from Killer Instinct?? Ed Boon has said many many times that he's a HUGE Killer Instinct fan and would LOVE to remake the game.....Yes, I'm most likely wrong...but who knows...and it's always fun to speculate on things:)

...AND...Microsoft DOES own Rare, which are the owners/makers of KI...(possible Xbox 360 exclusive character, for those who don't understand what I'm getting at with that comment)

So take it as you will, and tell me what YOU think...

I would think it would be tough for MK to acquire the proper licenses to implement KI characters in MK, but I guess it is always possible.

I think more or less what TC is saying is maybe Midway aquired the rights from Rare, to remake the series or bring it back from the dead. Not that they'll implement said characters in MK.

Yeah, but I didn't say they were putting him in the new MK...was just speculating that it MIGHT be him...maybe it is for a new KI game...OR maybe he might be an exclusive in the new MK...not sure either way...only time will tell

*and there is no Midway games anymore, but I know what ya meant:p*

Well Boon was a fan of KI so it is probable that Midway before it closed purchased the rights and NRS/WB was able to easily obtain those rights. I doubt they'd be working on it so soon if it were the opposite case. [Where they have to barge in and beat Rare over the head with a stick]

I think that's the dragon model in the background of The Graveyard arena.

I went and looked at what you're talking about...and yeah, you may very well be correct. They look a little different (which doesn't really matter since it might've been an earlier design)...so who knows, maybe you debunked my theory already, lol

Eh, it may not be debunked. An exclsuive character is, however Midway as I made mention of before may have bought the rights from Rare, since Rare hasn't been doing much lately anyway. Then when they closed WB may have picked up Boon/Co, made NRS and bought the rights to MK series and possibly KI. Which could mean a future installment, unless Rare still has the rights in which KI will probably never see the light of day again XP.

No, not Diablo...you mean Talon....but yes I agree that it looks more like him, and Primal Rage does have it's own "fatalities"...I just said Riptor, cause Boon is a HUGE KI fan

My reply must of been rushed. I haven't played Primal Rage since it was in the arcades.

It is the dragon in rooftop stage, 100% sure. Some person already compared the picture with the dragon there, no doubt. Besides, Ed Boon in a very old twetter said that he likes KI, but he does not see as a monstruosity as Riptor could fit in a fight game .....

Well I still don't think you can be a 100% sure, cause even if you pause in the videos of the rooftop stage, ya still can't get THAT close up of the flyin creature's head...BUT I personally think you might be right
