Any more tips for a NEW MK player to be competitive ?

One of my previous threads had discussed the methods I needed to take and I thank all the users who helped me in there and I will revert back to the thread when the game comes out just to continue reminding me.

I wanted a updated thread for anybody who hasn't given an input if they kindly do so. A few facts about me:

- I have a few months to practice this game, so I have an ample amount of time to practice.
- I use a normal 360 controller.
- Never played a MK game before.
- I am determined to become one of the best at MK9 at what ever cost.

1. Don't get mad at the game. If you let the game bother you, you will play worse. Getting pissed off is very unprofessional, so keep your cool.

2. Play against people who are better than you, and learn from them. Check out replays of how you play and analyze it, see what your weak points are and work on those and see what your strong points are and make those stronger.

3. Try using ALL characters and give each one a chance to find who is best for you. Don't pick characters based on tier results, go by which ones you are most comfortable with.

5. Don't let it consume your life. A lot of people who want to get competitive and go to tourneys and all of that just take things too seriously and end up ruining the game for themselves, and their social life too. Stay competitive, but don't let it consume you.

Also, MK does NOT require you to need an arcade stick to play well. A 360 controller is just fine. The controls in MK are really easy. Anyone who says you need to use a PS3 controller, arcade stick, or anything else is just biased and stating what they personally prefer.

Find someone who's a similar skill level to you and play against them regulary, hopefully you'll both get better together

wel I have some experience in this area being a competitive fighting game player:

1. HAVE FUN. Its pointless to play a game competitively if you dont like the game. Your first objective should be to enjoy the game
2. Go to tournaments. Check websites like SRK for any local tournaments upcoming in your area. SRK has a MASSIVE community. Also when you go to tourneys, have fun and meet some people. That is how you get known.
3.PRACTICE. When I say practice I dont mean just playing online. Go to training mode and experiment with your char
4. Ignore tier lists. They often say who the best is. Dont worry about that. Use who you are best with, not who others say is the best

Yeah man thats all I got right now. Good luck man.
