The moves could be adapted. Cyrax's net could be made of rope, he's got the bombs on his belt, he could spin a knife or a kunai on his hand for the buzzsaw, for the teleport... well, other human characters have teleport as well. For Sektor, he's got the flamethrower already, he could send the missiles from his hand like Lex in MKDC, and for the teleport, same as Cyrax.

Or is it because NRS DOES remember why he had those tattoos, but they just went like "**** it, he looks cool with them, let's keep them on."

Those tattos must be for something else instead of Onaga's tomb. Those tattos he has are different from the ones in MKDA-MKA.

In that case he needs new animations so it is a different character, they cant make different animations and different powers and habilities just for an alt because it needs a totally different and new coding, so its a new character.

Fox17, is right on this. An alternative costume would be the same character animation wise. The properties of attacks wouldn't change, with an animation change that would mean it wouldn't be just a simplistic alternative costume.

It's all about aestetics.
 
I doubt it's future Quan Chi. I'm pretty sure he got wiped out during MKA. Otherwise I'm sure he would have found a way to beat Kahn to it.

I dont think they can travel in time, if he could he would change everything whenever he wants. The most they can do is send a mental message to the past, does what Raiden does before he dies.

That would lead me to believe that may in fact be future Quan. I think the tatoos are just another hint. At the very least, future Quan may have sent him Onaga's army's location.

In the story dialogues they dont say anything about him being from the future, i think they are just tattoos and people is trying to find an answer for something that is there because no reason.

That happened in the original timeline as well.---> What you put in spoilers. He was responsible for most of the events leading up to MK4.

And he is just a demon, Raiden is a god and he can only send mental messages to the past. Although like Reaper said, we know he is dead from the intro.

Guys, have yall not notice they are different tattos or something? They have to be something else. If they were the same then it would be from the Dragon Tomb but it isn't! THEY HAVE TO BE SOMETHING ELSE! I don't wanna put any spoilers of Quan Chi here.

Shinnok wanted Shao Kahn to invade EarthRealm because as you know he is a fallen elder god and knows the consequences of it...thus Shao Kahn invades and the Elder Gods destroy him just as Shinnok wanted

I was more or less meaning that Quan Chi was responsible for most of the events during the original timeline, he even profitted from Shao Kahn's invasion allowing the Shinnok invasion right after. [Due to ER's defense being weak.]

Not much different here though. other than you know, Raiden and a certain someone's falling out. XD
