Midway Registers MKArmageddon.com Domain Name

To elaborate on our <a href="http://www.trmk.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15197">previous rumor mill posting</a>, we had also heard that <B>Midway</B> was contemplating naming the next <b>Mortal Kombat</b> game <a href="http://www.trmk.org/games/mkarmageddon/">Mortal Kombat: Armageddon</a>. A quick check on the Internet's domain records reveals that <b>Midway</b> had recently registered the domain name <b>MKArmageddon.com</b> (whois) on <b>Friday, September 23rd, 2005</b>. Given that the same source provided us with the <b>Armageddon</b> subtitle, we believe that this domain registration corraborates the story about the next <b>Mortal Kombat</b> fighting game remaining on current generation consoles. Check out a screenshot of the registrar record, just in case Midway tries to cover this up.

w00t! That sounds sexy. I can't wait. They better take their time and add in all the things they want to. They didn't put in a lot of things because of the time. Like Boss Rush Mode, they didn't have time to put that in. So I hope they have time. This is gonna be cool. and later they might make a combination of ALL mk games. I hope so. I don't want to spoil too much from fight night, so ya'll read it yourselves.
 
Well I remeber Boon saying that they felt like they had enough time with deception and put everything in that they wanted. yet theres still alot of stuff left hanging in that game.

The fight night was pretty bad and not really informative. Basically its sounds like they forgot to remove some of the game over messages that alluded to stuff like "Did you feed ALL the trees" and "Boss Rush Mode?"
 
The link is not linking now, Midway may be trying to hid it. Congrats to whoever found it but next time - don't shout about it. Midway might change the name of the game now. :wink:

But the title, basically Armageddon from bible things is the battleground of the war int he last bit of the book. This sounds like it might be for MK7. Since supposdlly the problem is more or less by the looks of it going to be 'hell on earth' it eems logical.

Still, a name is something, at least we have something to hope on.

I've actually known about the title for a month. But recently got official support of the title's truth by the domain name registration. We've broken the next game's titles many times before, so I doubt they'll change it now.

well Onaga was sposed to be armeggeddon-like, so it must be something bigger then him, I gotta tell you when I first saw MKD's opening video I was sure that he would be the killer of everyone! lol

Umm yeah, that's what happens when you unearth details about someone's game when they're not ready for that information to be public. Right now there's nothing there but a placeholder page when you register a domain name. Apparently someone up there at Midway thought they had some time before they needed to put their own placeholder site.

Name! I think we're onto a winner here.

I cant wait for it. I hope it can go online and you can play with the Americans on this.
 
I'm thinking Armageddon — something huge. My bet is some kind of story related to the six Kamidogu and Shinnok's amulet.
