Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I actually don't think that's a bad thing and there's been worse such as the ports to various home systems especially the portables. It also avoids the lazy bad digitized look that a lot of digitized games suffered from. Also, if they at some point made an MKT HD Remix they wouldn't look so...

Jason X would be PERFECT for MKX

Yeah, there's actually more than three. There's 1) Sack Head Jason from the second film 2) Classic Hockey Mask Jason (with variations on the mask and what he's wearing) 3) Jason Goes to Hell variant 4) Cyborg Jason from Jason X. x2) then all those without the mask :P 5) Can't forget kid Jason...

Jason X would be PERFECT for MKX

I'd bet if they put Jason in as a follow up to Freddy's inclusion in MK9 they would go with his classic look. Or more like how he looked in Freddy vs Jason. I understand that the inclusion of Freddy was polarizing and some people don't want guest characters at all. But I think it'd be a good...

I like how that flipbook does things the real game didn't do like zooming in during key moves.

    Mortal Kombat X: Stereoscopic 3D

I think the black curtain in MK9 looks pretty bad even in 2D.. it's kind of distracting. In my opinion they should have used black fog and perhaps a subtle depth of field effect instead. As for 3D it's pretty awesome but not comfy on my eyes no matter the implementation. On the other hand I...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I do understand though. Even the shock of knowing that it's highly likely especially now that a good MKHD Remix game may never see the light of day. What I mean is... this thread served a constructive purpose before. But now I see trolls taking root and the thread reduced to bickering and...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

It's really sad to see what this thread has devolved into. If it's not about making HD MK sprites and artwork any more it doesn't serve the purpose it should serve any more.

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I was about to post that.. I was looking at that Kotaku article and thinking... Hmmm... that scorpion looks familiar... That's always something you risk when you post previews on the net... That they'll be reappropriated by someone else. I like how someone says, "Which MK game are these from...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

You know... I kind of forgot about that one even though I had it on VHS tape at the time. Yeah the CGI fight scenes looked odd (especially Shang Tsung) although to be honest the 3D Goro in MK4 didn't look much better especially in the home versions.

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

There was one.. Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm. It looked nothing like that.. it resembled Batman The Animated Series more. Additionally it took most of its design cues from MK3.

Mortal Kombat Fire & Ice or Mk10?

I'd like MK Fire and Ice to be sort of like the Batman Arkham games and developed by Rocksteady (with cooperation from NRS) and has NRS making MK10 as their primary goal.

The only problem with the correction Uker did to that particular picture is it washes out a certain percentage of the detail. Particularly in the brighter areas of the picture.

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Typically, proper normal (and others besides the diffuse, but then again for something like this the base sprite frame would be considered the diffuse) maps are baked from the model via the 3D program.. not hand painted. 3D modeling apps are already setup to do so. You can also use a program...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Just to keep this fresh in your minds. Even if you choose to use engines other than MUGEN for this you can still make it fully 2D if you wish. Even if you use Unreal Engine or Unity. It's even possible to do a hybrid approach like 3D stages but 2D sprites and or using normal maps as a way to...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Spinning hook kick really is more like what Liu Kang is doing there. But most move names in Mortal Kombat are generalized no matter what the actor is doing in the frame due to the controls being generalized amongst all the characters. Roundhouse kicks go the other direction and yes does go back...

That mod for Doom looks terrible to me. Just dreadful.. it's the SNES graphics made worse somehow. I can tell they took out frames.

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

If that's what those are called now the renaming was probably within the past decade as Faux Hawks aren't as old a hairstyle fashion as mullets as they really only became popular in the 2000's... Mulllets and thusly Fullets by extension are earlier (70's and 80's).... so there :P Hell, before...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

2 things.. 1) tying long hair back with a headband does not a mullet make.. mullets actually have the sides cut short and only the back is long... 2) On a female it's a Fullet... The M is for Male. :)

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Yeah, none of that stuff was in MK1 so it wont be here... On the other hand.. If you know your MK history unlike that other stuff JCVD was meant to be in the game in the first place. When they didn't manage to get him to sign on they ended up making Johnny Cage. JCVD is not as random or uncalled...

Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

MUGEN is gamepad compatible the last time I checked. However, there's always keyboard emulation software if not. Also, one wouldn't be able to play it with a mouse even if they wanted to. Also, I used to play MK1 just fine with the keyboard using the arrow keys and the number pad setup with the...
