The character design is a flawless victory in this game. I think it's also important to point out the female charcter's transitions from the outdated and somewhat sexist portrayals. Just an example of how NetherRealm actually pays attention to the criticisms made to their games.
There's no question that the factions will be represented equally in the story. Everybody plays the same version. However, the video doesn't really say anything about character exclusivity in the Factions. It makes less sense to me to see Sub Zero in any faction that isn't the Lin Kuei. Having...
I agree. I'm almost positive that only the characters that represent each particular faction will be exclusive to that faction. All other characters will most likely be playable regardless of your chosen faction.
This is an interesting theory and not totally impossible but there are two points that would contradict this and suggest otherwise.
1) Frost and Sub Zero don't exactly have the best relationship with each other. The tried to steal her mentor's medallion and kill him in her game's ending. So...
That's actually a really keen observation. I had to watch it again to notice but when I did I think you're right. Each change probably represents the different fight style. Every time it switches back to Scorpion v Sub Zero, they use a different play style. In the first, both use projectiles...
I would love to have some blocking animations to make the kombat a little more fluid and realistic similar to the teaser video. Might be a bit of a stretch for today's current tech but it'd still look sick as .
I agree with this and I wish it would be but the press release did say that it was "for the first time ever." I'm expecting it will most likely end up being something like a strength/speed type deal.
I think NRS spent too much effort in trying to depower Noob since he was such a cheap character in UMK3. Now he's so underpowered that the only way to perform combos >4 hits is to get your opponent to a wall.
Re: Potential new fatalities?
I would really love to see an Ermac fatality where he summons a miniature soulnado around the opponent and the souls rip the limbs off the person in the center. That'd be sick.
