Is it still downloading? On playstation they let you play a couple of modes whilst it's downloading in the background. If you go to the dashboard and under MK you'll see 'option', you can check in there to see if it's completed the download. Not sure about XBone or PC

Have you downloaded the samurai pack?

Just wanted to add that you unlock Shinnok automatically if you brought the kombat pack. I'm not sure if it's an error or not but that seems to be the key.

Regarding the Kitana section. You mentioned that Pretty Kick shouldn't be used as a wake-up option, it has armour and I tend to use it mostly in place of the cutting fan. No real reason other then I prefer the kick to the fan (purely cosmetic :P), but it does have armour so it's not completely...

You can also use (B+1,2) it's not much but it has some range and lets you go in swinging against a turtler.

Raiden is difficult until you realise that every Raiden player does the same combos and uses the same strategy over and over again. Once you stop their BnB, they will superman until the cows come home, so just block. I used to find Raiden hard to fight but I've found him relatively easy...
