Oh yeah, the relatability thing. Funny, I don't need characters to be exactly like me to relate to them. This inability for other people to relate to characters of the opposite gender, or other races, etc, is a weakness as far as I'm concerned.

As for the gameplay thing, do tell me what is about male characters' gameplay that you think is exclusive to them. Is it brute strenght? Is it size? Because Sheeva was pretty big and strong.

It's nothing personal like "I like Shao Kahn because he has brute strength." it just so happens I never like the gameplay of the girls in MK. Is there a problem with that?

What's up with this witch hunt? Cmon guys, there have been a couple of clearly sexist comments but you can prefer male characters and not be a sexist pig. Don't put everybody in the same bag.
There are a lot of people who only use female characters in this forum, are they sexist too? or does it only work one way?
Personaly, I already voted for Sindel and would welcome any female character but, if it were up to me, I would have an all male pack. Why? because I think there are better male characters to pick than female ones (the only females among my favorites, Tanya and to a lesser extent, Mileena and Kitana, are already in). Am I sexist for thinking that, in my opinion, Noob, Fujin, Sektor or Rain are better characters or more fun to use than the likes of Sareena or Li Mei? I'm sure a lot of people in this thread being called sexist are in the same boat I am.


On a side note, the "only gays would want more male characters" argument is as BS as it gets. I'm sure you are a WNBA fan too lol
 
I think I can somewhat understand [MENTION=18204]Rolling_Toaster[/MENTION]'s view. The male characters generally seem to be more fleshed out and unique. Simply more focus on them. Whereas with the female ones, since there's less of them, they can look more similar to each other - and they somewhat are. Mileena, Kitana, Jade... Tanya... It's like quattro formaggi - 4 kinds of cheese, but still cheese. And then Sheeva (female Goro), Sindel (female Shao Kahn), Sonya (female Jax), Frost (female Sub-Zero), Nitara (female Havik), Ashrah (female Fujin/Raiden), Khameleon (female Chameleon)... Even the male palette-swap ninjas went through more evolution over time than them. So yes, I can understand Mr. Toaster and why his eyes are rolling. At the same time, though, I think MKX eliminated this and managed to make, for the first time, every character truly unique.

Maybe the male character that a person prefers to use in a game has better gameplay.
What does preferring to play as a male or female character have to do with sexuality?
That's a pretty ignorant statement to make.
That's like saying that all female gamers who use female characters are lesbians.
It comes down to gameplay.
Sub-Zero had always been my preferred go-to character in MK games because of the way that he plays.
Jacqui's gameplay made me use her as well, for a while, but what does sexuality have to do with anything.


As far as DLC is concerned, aside from Sareena, I don't really care for the remaining female characters coming back as DLC.
 
Sometimes I use Mileena and I feel like a straight macho but sometimes I want to go full flamboyant homosexual and I use Sub-Zero. *this thread's logic*
 
R.I.P all Frost fans hopes and dream of seeing her in KP2.
