Roster Speculation

Of all the post mk3 female characters..she should be playable ..im really let down because I feel like the roster will consist of only 25 at release...I really hoped for 30

They really messed things up with some lazy, generic, stupid characters in the past. I mean, Nitara. A friggin' vampire, seriously? I'm actually surprised that they didn't have a try at a Frankenstein or Swamp Monster character after that. What's next, some generic dude who looks like Ken from SF with a generic background? Oh, wait.
 
From that we can infere she's going to be in the game but not as a playable char.

Maybe she appears in the background fighting like Reiko, Kenshi and Daegon in MK9.

I like Li Mei's look, specially because I love purple and winter caps, though I can't remember what her powers were.

Boon is a troll but he never lies. That I remember at least.
 
Li Mei was in all three 3D era games (MKDA-MKA), so I guess she is popular. Unless they revamp her with a better design, better set of moves and has personality that is not dull as crap then I would welcome her back. I like her MKD ending with her siding with Onaga.
 
I guess Li Mei gets a point or two for getting acknowledged, but Boon's tweet says "MAY", which means he's not lying if she's not in the game. It's still a toss-up.

Because she was deeply involved in the Onaga storyline.
 
I hope that Li Mei isn't playable and that she gets killed off in MKX story mode.
The less connections to Onaga that we have in MKX, the better, IMO.
I want to see this "original story" for MKX, which Ed spoke of, and not another rehash of the old 3D era timeline.

Well, Outworld Civil War seems like the biggest story focus. It's not stretch that her village becomes involved again. I just can't see her as playable, though - not over Tanya, Reiko, Fujin and/or Bo' Rai Cho. If they were going to revamp only a few 3D characters, she would be a strange place to start.

The "may" was forced in there to get the pun, because Li may sounds like Li Mei. But yeah it's still a toss-up, although the tweet makes it sound like she's background or comic to me, but not playable.

To be fair it's not like everyone will have the same story. Kenshi's plot seems to be going in different places (maybe)

If there's 26-28 characters, I'd throw in a random combination of Shang Tsung, Smoke, and more new characters.

That's me, though. I don't think Baraka or most of the MK3 cast has a chance. I don't think any 3D characters have a chance, outside of Fujin, Shinnok, Bo' Rai Cho and Kenshi. And I don't think we're getting more than 8-10 new characters.

I'm not even gonna try to predict DLC without knowing the entire launch roster, but I think Cyrax is a shoe-in.

Sonya, Jax and Mileena have just been confirmed. I'm telling you guys...
 
Plus John Edwards mentioned this Invasion feature when factions will be under attack from Outworld, Netherrealm or Khaos Realm. We have Outworlders (Kotal, D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr), Netherrealmers (Quan Chi, probably Shinnok) so there must be someone from Khaos Realm. So Havik could be back.

And some interesting thing: during one of the E3 presentations Ed Boon said that if MKX has 25 kharacters that will mean 75 variations. At that time we had only 24 roster spots. So why specifically 25? And we have 25 roster spots since the last stream. And a place for Goro of course.

Right now Im leaning towards the game is going to be completely amazing, but the most new characters ever is out the window.
