Just for the record, many of us like rap. My two cents on this track tho? It rules.

I agree it's probably not going to be the final select screen music. I'm guessing they'll use something simpler for that.

lol eazy-e had the worst lyrics in the rap game.

When I first head this song i thought about MK
but still neither does rap ,metal or any other genre fits perfectly in the MK game. Mortal Kombat soundtrack used to create that awesome dark climate that only MK had, and after MK vs DC it went downhill and sounds like some batman movie.

Well I should have clarified that i mostly meant from a production standpoint. (the instrumentals.)
If you know Necro then you know his beats are beastly..

There is no music genre that fits Mortal Kombat. It's a fantasy fighting tournament with an oriental theme.
The best fit for MK is when an upbeat rhythm meets powerful instruments

The only music that fits MK is MK music.
I'll be honest if past games had metal, rap etc. I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much, it wouldn't feel authentic to me.
 
Okay thats sounds awesome, though im kind of pissed about it, I mean why not a remade version of the MK3 character select?!

^That was awesome. I've always loved the MK3 soundtrack in general, especially the character select screen.

I mean, they already reused MKII sound samples for MK3, so why not? :P

Yeah they did, and its not that crazy difficult to make something old school into something accepted today, it sounds very dark I like it.
Who knows lets hope for MK HD remake or something haha
