MKX comic

Two important things we got from this.

1. " if you see a character in the book, that's not a guarantee that they're going to show up in the game."

2. The interviewer is a retard. Liu kang isn't dead/gone, the winner of the mortal kombat tournament is immortal/doesn't age until the next tournament.

Lol I noticed that too, I was also sort of interested in what he said about Kotal's dagger...seems to be more than just a weapon.

Uh pretty sure he was dead at the end of MK9.

THANK YOU!

yes he is dead, raiden killed him....ANd you can still be killed as champion, thats why shang tsung kiled him!! you dont age , you can still die!

and i hope this worthless dross stays dead.... hes jus tas bland an pathetic as stryker an jax

Im sure the elder gods or Raiden will find a way to revive him somehow.

If he was trully dead is left open for debate, yes Raiden fried his ass real good, though he might just have slipped into some sort of a coma, its mortal kombat its not real life.

"" I can't say whether or not he'll appear in the game, but I can say that I have access to every character that there's ever been, including the characters that fans hate like Mokap and Meat. ""

That's pretty interesting.
Hopefully it means we'll get a whole bunch of cameos.

According to MK:C tv series, the champion of Mortal Kombat remains virtually immortal until the next tournament (50 years from the later) to train a new generation of fighters.

Yet, he can still die. But if he engage on a fight that is not from the MK tournament, he loses his immortality if defeated.

That's why he never accepted Shang Tsung's challenges on the series, and when he did, he won, but Raiden got pissed off.

Anyway, there is no way to prove that Liu Kang died at the end of MK9 events, no matter what we consider the consequence of winning MK tournaments, it wasn't very clear.

There's also this, which forces me into getting the f***ing comic book:

"the story in the game, thematically and in details, is seeded in the book. So, we're not going to retell the same story, and I certainly don't want to bring a book to the audience that's like here's some cut scenes from the game but now it's art,"

The are putting a figurative one to my head by forcing me to get the comic, in order to understand the story, or otherwise be lost in MKX Story Mode.
Cash grab.

I have so far not read any of the Injustice comics, but I understood the story in game perfectly fine. They can do the same very well for MKX as well. As far as MKX is concerned, a good chunk of the prospective players are casual players who wouldn't care or even know about these comics, they wouldn't thus build up a story for the game that requires prior reading of the comic.

Agreed, but that's not what the quote from the comic writer implies:

All he said was they aren't going to rehash the MKX story into a comic book.

Nowhere did he say "You HAVE to read the comic before playing the game, or you'll be completely lost."
You're making assumptions when we know virtually nothing about this comic book.
Other then it takes place before MKX.

If they aren't going to rehash the MKX game story into the comic (like they did with Injustice), and it takes place before MKX, that implies MKX prequel story that's not in the game.
I'm just reading between the lines.

Yeah I know.

I guess it doesn't mater to me either way...
Ill be buying them when they release digitally, and ill buy them a second time if there's ever physical copies

I read all the other komics on Kamidogu, plus the MK1 one was in MKDA's Krypt...

The only one I ever had a physical copy of was MK4, and that one was free with the purchase of the PC port (which I didn't know until I bought it...it was probably Windows 95 compatible, definitely Windows 98 compatible. I have no clue whether or not it's compatible with modern Windows OSes though.)
