Man!!!!!!!!Anderson's leg got messed up bad last night, cannot see him returning after that. Weird how for many years now all us UFC fans have been waiting eagerly for a super fight between Anderson Silva and GSP and within about the space of a month its unlikely that ether of them will even fight ever again :(

It was heartbreaking man... I wanted him to win his belt back.

Honestly, this will test the credibility of the UFC and MMA in general to see if it stays up there as a "mainstream" sport. The biggest PPV draw, GSP is on an indefinite hiatus, Anderson will probably never fight for the title again, let alone fight at all again, and these are the fighters that were champs when the popularity of the UFC was surging. Now, in North America, the hype is dying down, with "casuals" increasingly not willing to buy PPVs or watch the free cards, so let's see how the UFC promotes the new breed to the general audience.

Yeah youre right, the UFC definately have a task on their hands to maintain that level of popularity they had when their two most decorated champions in the sport's history perhaps were present. Having said that tho they still have plenty of great fighters to keep us fans pumped up and they are still miles ahead of boxing.

By the way, do you think we will ever see GSP fight again? I think its sad to see him leave but I could not blame him for wanting to take a break when I read an article about him discussing missing time and fear of aliens, he definitely has some issues he needs to sort out. I hope I am wrong but I cannot see him back at least not at his best anyways.

Re: What are your UFC 168 predictions?

Hello everyone! I have not been on this site in a while. I would like to start this post by wishing everyone a Happy Christmas. Hope you are having a good one, I know I am :) . I am very excited about UFC 168 which is taking place this Saturday and am wondering what your predictions are.

Chris Weidman V Anderson Silva (Middleweight Championship)
Ronda Rousey V Miesha Tate (Womens Bantamweight Championship)
Josh Barnett V Travis Browne
Jim Miller V Fabricio Camoes
Justin Poriers V Diego Brandao

I think Anderson will get his belt back, for me it was just his showboating that cost him last time. I guess Miesha is lucky the fight is taking place after Christmas day because if the fight happened before it she would be getting someone to open her presents, I reckon Ronda is going to wreck one of Miesha's arms again like she did in Strikeforce. I also predict Barnett, Miller and Brandao all to win.

Man, I was surprised how quickly Barnett got stopped. Browne has been impressive lately, but don't see him getting past Dos Santos.

My girl Rousey did it again. Only person I want her to really fight now is Cyborg, but I dunno if she'll be back in the UFC. I think she almost committed career suicide by having Tito as her manager, but hopefully that will be fixed. Recently she posted a tweet about coming after Ronda. Maybe UFC and her are in talks again?

Remember what Bas said Silva, turn your hip with you kicks!!

I would love to see that Ronda and Cyborg match happen too. Cyborg was advised by doctors it would not be safe to fight at 135 pounds apparantly it could hinder her future attempts at having children so if the fight was to take place it would most likely be a 140 pound catchweight fight. I think it would be a very interesting fight seeing how Ronda would do against this ripped, super, strong machine woman and as we know there is no love lost between the two ladies.

Speculation about the possibility of this superfight has been going on for years now, I think she is just trying to draw attention to herself calling out Ronda with her recent tweet because if she really wanted to fight Rousey she would drop Ortiz as her manager (when she knows how much Dana is against doing business with him) and have kept her contract with the UFC instead of asking to be released. I think deep down she is afraid of Ronda... but it would be sweet if her and the UFC came to some agreement for this to happen.

Just wanna say first that by no means am I a doctor or have any proper medical training BUT, I think doing steroids may be a larger health risk than cutting weight. I obviously have no clue what is going on between Santos and her doctor(s), but I think that excuse is bs.

I'm not really sure why she made that tweet either. Would be interesting to see where it goes from there. She did kind of make herself irrelevant after the suspension and teaming up with Tito. It could be very much what you said, she's just trying to keep her name out there.

I really would love to see this fight tho, and I really do think Cyborg will beat Ronda. Especially with the PED's edge. But I know Ronda would make it a hell of a fight. When Christiane fought Gina Carano, I swear Carano was scared. To me, she held back a lot. I don't see Ronda doing that.

I will be looking forward to that match dude! I know Weidman is undefeated but I can see Vitor winning and making quick work of him with the kind of form he is in, look what he done to Rockhold and Henderson for instance.

If he doesn't get his TRT exemption, it will be interesting to see how he performs. If he destroys Weidman without it, it shows that all the abuse he's taken for using it will go to shit, and the haters will have absolutely nothing to say.

What are your UFC 169 predictions?

Renan Barao V Urijah Faber (Banthamweight Championship)
Jose Aldo V Ricardo Lamas (Featherweiht Championship)
Frank Mir V Alistair Overeem
John Linekar V Ali Baguatinov
Jamie Varner V Abel Trujillo

I think Urijah will defeat Barao this time around, going into the fight on a four fight win streak with impressive wins over Jorgenson and McDonald I have never seen Urijah so hungry. I would say a submission win possibly in the first or second round. I can see Aldo retaining his crown against Lamas and I have The Reem down to beat Mir in what will probably be a do or die contest for both fighters. I also predict Baguatinov and Varner to win their fights.

Disagree with your Faber/Barao pick, since Faber took this fight on relatively short notice, I do not think he will have ample time to prepare for Barao who has been increasingly getting better with each performance since he became Interim, now Undisputed champ. If Faber gets it to the ground however, I see problems for Barao, although his Jiu Jitsu is no joke.

Aldo winning by 1st or 2nd round annihilation, especially since Lamas has had a relatively long layoff.

Although they both have glass jaws, I see Reem blasting Mir into outer space in the first round. Mir's striking is world class garbage, and Reem's takedown defence is pretty decent.

I want Bagautinov to win, simply because Lineker cannot make weight for the life of him, which is incredibly disrespectful, and I hope the Killa wins, but it's a close contest.

Bang on Taj.

As a long time Faber fan I was dissapointed to see him not take home the crown but there was no stopping Barao. It does not look like he will ever do it now since his WEC reign as champion he falls just short of the title everytime.

Was glad to see Overeem win, despite all the controversy he received he is a great fighter. I think if he gets his stuff together and gets back to his best he is capable of tearing through the roster in the heavyweight division. Would'nt a fight between him and Junior Dos Santos be awesome?

What are your UFC 170 predictions?

Ronda Rousey vs Sara McMann (Womens Bantamweight Championship)
Daniel Cormier vs Patrick Cummins
Rory McDonald vs Damien Maia
Mike Pyle vs TJ Waldburger
Robert Whittaker vs Stephen Thompson

I reckon McMann is going to be by far Ronda's toughest opponent and being an olympic silver medalist at wrestling she certainly has the strenght advantage. Despite the fact McMann is also undefeated I think Ronda will just about do what it takes to get the win. I think this because Ronda has more experience on the big stage, she has fought higher calibber opponents and there is no denying her submissions. Its a real shame Rashed Evans got injured because that would have been a great fight but I do not think Cormier will have any troubles getting the win tommarow night. If theres one person capable of beatin Jon Jones its got to be Cormier. I also predict wins for Maia, Pyle and Whittaker.

I am again pulling for Ronda to win, but I agree that Mcmann will probably be her toughest. I actually see this going the full 5 rounds.

Cormier is crazy talented, but I don't know about him beating Jones. The only person right now that I see giving Jones problems is Glover Teixiera. Dude is a beast.

Although last night's event wasn't a huge draw in terms of star power, each fight delivered! 4 stoppages, a potential 5th could have taken place is Rory would freaking have a Killer Instinct. I don't want to turn this into a rant, but I swear Tristar screws with fighters' mindsets, especially the highly rated, top fighters, like GSP and Rory. Rory could've easily finished Maia, but he didn't pull the trigger. AND I'M CANADIAN AND SAYING THIS!

Regardless though, amazing event. I only see Cyborg giving Ronda a challenge, Alexis Davis and Cat Zingano won't make a dent. And I can't wait to see who they match Cormier up with next.
