PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

Not only did they learn to deal with X-rays, they found a better way to use the meter. Enhanced specials and breakers are also potential tide-turners in battles, yet nobody wants to bellyache about them. Let's not forget that X-rays are risky because they take up all 3 bars of the meter. Again, some characters can inflict a comparable amount of damage in a combo without using wasting all 3 bars. Also, meter gain is not exclusive to taking damage, using specials, and hitting your opponent also gain meter. It's far better to just have lead in life rather than just waiting for all meter to fill up completely and hope your X-ray will land.

Yes, I know those things and you're right but everything you said needs two things: two skilled players and while you're learning the game you don't have that. Here's what I do when I'm fighting against the AI or online: I restrict myself from using the X-Ray, I only use it once in a while, instead of that I try to practice my combos, come up with interesting things, try to figure out the overall game mechanics, see what move does what in enhanced and normal modes, etc. This usually leads to me losing against players who use the cheap stuff the game offers so easily. I know that I do the right thing and eventually everything will come to place and those losers won't have a shot at me but still it's a bit demotivating. What happens when I pick Scorpion and do his superfast X-X-X combo with the occasional "GETOVERHERE!" all the time: I win like a pro and that's why the game lacks a lot of polish and balance.

Well, this challenge 251 is really starting to annoy me. Went on to Youtube to search for a solution only to find out that it's exactly what I'm doing, the difference is that while the Shao Kahn in the video is just standing there waiting for a beating:

Seems like the good old PC AI problem: it's just a tiny bit better than on consoles but it makes a huge difference.

Netcode is better than console version but it still needs a lot of improvements. So far i have played more than 200 matches online and i had a few of them lag , some others disconnected me during matches. But the majority of the time it works ok.

You're on the lucky side I guess because while lag is usually not unbearable for me, finding matches is extremely hard. I'll be an old man before I play 200.

Since i set my region through steam settings to Russia i can find plenty of people all the time. You must do the same. Go to your profile, then choose, settigns, then click on download tab. Change the region to Central Russia. After than exit steam and start it again and play the game. You will notice lot of people online after you do it.

MADE IT! Man, I was never this happy to have the opportunity to play as Raiden, this thing with Shang Tsung took me 3.5 hours to beat overall. :DD

While assembling a kinda low-end PC for a friend to play this, it caught my attention how the game only used about 300 MB of RAM while running.
Also, some of the stages (soul chamber, cemetery) are pretty CPU-intensive, and a dual 2.7 GHz Athlon 64 didn't cut it.
For video, a GT 630 does just great.

This is how CPU and GPU make difference in FPS when it comes to MK:

Lol

From this benchmark we can see that the game becomes demanding only if you run it at higher resolution than 1920x1080. Even low end pc can run it perfectly maxed on 1920x1080 and that a good thing. Mine 2500k 3,3ghz and 560 ti twin fronz oc 2gb run it at 60 fps maxed on 1920x1080 as you see but that was to be expected

And here is a greek review of the pc version!!

http://www.ragequit.gr/reviews/item/mortal-kombat-komplete-edition-pc-review

Ragequit.gr is one of the most popluar greek pc gaming sites, with news, reviews and previews of all games that are released on pc.

The reviews says that the only problem with the game is the online netcode and it has a high score as you see. If any of you knows Greek you will understand what exactly it says. On some other news, i talked with one of the guys who writes reviews and news on the site he told me that he has confirmation that pc version of Injustice will be officialy announced at August on Gamescom!!!:):)

Seems like the last 50 challenge territory is where the challenge tower starts being challenging or freakin' hard in some instances. Fortunately 251 was just a badly designed difficulty spike and now it's time for the more meaningful ones. I'm at 257 now and it's very hard but at least it's fair even though you have to fight Noob Saibot, a character type who's presence is a horrible idea in a fighting game (the idea behind him is to visually or mechanically distract the other player: in most of his special moves he doubles himself, he has attacks that makes your fighter disappear from the screen for a short period of time, he can disable your blocking ability and mix up your controls). It's great fun overall.

Edit: 269: you have to defeat 3 Shao Kahns with Stryker! :D You know Netherrealm, most game studios try to hide the badly designed parts of their games not triple them. :D It was not hard though, only the third fights a bit like the "real" one and after 251 I'm a Shao Khan specialist anyway.

Also this number 300 will be a tough nut to crack even with the ability to choose your character: random decreases in your abilites and increases to your enemies? Really? I expected 3 ultra hard AI opponents (Mileena is pretty hard though even without the powerups) but looks like I have to settle for random bullshit... again. Or I just exploit this character select thing by downloading the boss mod and killing off everyone with Shao Kahn's hammer projectile. :DD

Edit no2: Oh so after Mileena you still have to deal with Shao Kahn? Sorry game, not this week, after defeating him 50 times before I need a vacation from SK killing.

I have to say that i get more players / games lagless than i was getting when i bought the game. They must've done something, and i dont mean a patch but maibe the servers. I have played 150+ ranked games and 90% from them were lagless, even in rooms i meet a lot of players that i can play with less or even 0 lag.

The other problem, with "X-Ray combos", well it was a stupid addition to the game. Yes its cool at start You see all those slow motion 35% comboses but after a while you see the disadvantage of such a combos.

A friend asked me why i didn't use X-Ray because i would've won a fight. I told him " Taking 35% from life with 2 buttons seems stupid and i wont use it with friends". I have also played with very very good players taht were using "X-rays" just to show me how much health they can get from me, a childish think but what can i say. I consider myself a "FAIR" player , i started playing Sub-Zero and never quit it, why ? its because the caracter is sooo good? No, its because if i play with a good caracter ( teleporter or spamer i will never truly learn the game ).

Dont get me wrong Sub-Zero its a powerful character "At the late stages of the learning curve" But when i just started the game 7 - 8 days ago , i can realy REALY see the disadvantages of this caracter. What i love about Sub-Zero is that it lets me focus on some nitches of the game like timing, punishing and the way some moves seems more powerful than others. Sad there are so few playing Sub-Zero and to those that play him i say this. "RESPECT!"

Conclusion:
- playing a powerfull character just because you saw on you tube its so very easy to use and does "Crap load of damage" is lame
- Using X-Ray with friends is lame ( i still use in ranked games but even then i use it after the other guy does )
- The online games have less lag now. Why?
