PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

I personally hate, loathe the art style of MK9, so I'm really hoping for some mods that make the characters look less like bad comic book characters.
 
I'm a fan of Mortal Kombat's more "realistic" approach, which it was rooted in. I'm not into the ninja characters looking like pro wrestlers, the regular characters looking like bodybuilder, etc. I can't stand it and for me, it makes the game look awful. Especially when we know that this game could easily, easily have looked much better.

If NBA2K11 could have 10 players on the court, coaches and referees, plus a crowd and the characters looking that good, then it should have been extremely easy for 2-4 characters to look outstanding in MK9.

It just cheapens the game for me, and even sucks me out of the world that I grew up being a huge fan of.

So I personally would love some graphical mods that take the game back to it's "realistic" look.
 
I seriously have no idea why you're expecting that the MK9 characters would look like they would appear in real life. Nothing about this game is realistic, and that's the fun of it.

I personally think the ninjas in MK9 are absolutely awesome.
 
Only 5 days left till release!
I am getting excited! Really hope they release few more screens or we get to read some reviews before the release but i doubt it honestly.

@UltraMarine, regardless of where you buy it, it'll be the same game with the same DRM and the same netcode: Steam. It costs too much money to have different versions of the game released. It probably cost about 1 million just to have it ported to PC.

Everything will become much clearer after the digi release or worst case scenario - around August the second. As I said earlier, i'll post news and stuff regarding the topic if needed, if not - case closed.

Yes, I'd love playing realistic looking yellow ninjas... oh wait. :D Personally there's only one thing bothering me in the art style of MK9: the ridiculously huge tits on female characters. I just don't see a reason for that, I mean if you want more and more teenage boys to buy MK well brutality's more than enough to pull them in I think.

Sonya is fun to play with, but damn, her design is ridiculously awful.

I think I know where are you coming from. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me.
While playing Mortal Kombat 9 it is not really obvious, but there are a lot of... interesting design choices. I have nothing to say about male fighters or the background art, because they look awesome, but females... good Raiden.. Mortal Kombat was never about being realistic, but there is also a limit to how much you can deform female characters. Huge chest is usual crap for "sex sells" policy, but it is nothing compared to hips being almost twice as small as torso, arms being big as legs and Sonya looking like someone has smashed her face and decided to put some make up to hide all of the deformations (poor girl). And oh boy don't get me started with clothing design... even if it is hard I could live with all that "ninja" outfits they gave to kitana and jade (mileena is something like succubus, so it is understandable) or "Special Forces gear" which was given to Sonya, but why... just WHY in Raiden's name you gave them... High heels?
Game is really awesome and when you're having fun you don't really pay attention to such things, but when you look closer you can clearly see that females are nothing more than deformed, disproportionate dolls for lone teenagers to play with. It really kills the quality of at least female cast, especially if you have some favorites in there (like Sonya Blade). But now as Mortal Kombat 9 is coming to pc, that will be fixed with the best available resource... mods.
 
Misucra is right. Obviously we all love mortal kombat here, but man the face designs especially for the ladies is really bad, but we PC users won't have to worry about that. :)

I guess most of the people were indeed waiting on a Steam preorder, and now, when they've realized it won't happen, they are all grabbing their copies from the other websites. Expect for MK to climb and remain on the number 1 position very soon.

aaand that creates huge disadvantage for movement. So unless you walk or dance ballet, you can't move for shit. All the stuff Sonya, Jade, Kitana, Mileena, etc do in MK would break those high heels in a couple of seconds. High heel is THE most impractical invention created by humankind and if I could, I would find and kill the dude who decided, that horse riders shoes are practical for the use in daily life. If you fight, it is either boots, sandals or barefoot, but definitely NOT high heels.
 
Yes and I wish I had never heard or seen that abomination (if you like DOA don't take it personally, just my opinion).
