Frost (DLC) Thread - "Could Frost merely be hibernating?"

I hope Frost is released soon for DLC if she is at all...... Ok now that we are all done crying lets speculate her special moves, xray, fatalities, and how she will play. Put those In the comments below and Ill update this page with the best special moves, xray, and fatalities until we have done most the work for NRS. Maybe they will look at this. Lets Go everybody.
 
So wait....

You want a character for DLC, but don't want to put any thought into how that character will come about?
 
I dont see the point of another cryomancer.

We have Sub-Zero and Cyber Sub-Zero i think its enough ice.
Sub-Zero is the ice dude, Frost IMO just represents the era were MK developers ran out of ideas and started to make bad copies of the existing players, I can tell more chars but i dont want to start a chars fan war.

Anyway everyone has right to wish whoever they want but still wanted to tell my point of view.
Not a fan of lady fighters, I may add.
 
People are complaining about Frost becoming DLC, we already have an Ermac clone becoming DLC.

That was one of the copies i was going to tell but i didnt because Kenshi has so many fans and they are gonna get angry. At least he is a swordsman, Frost is just the same but female lol
 
I don't mind Frost nearly as much as some people do lol, but I don't see her as necessary in this game. If they do a lot of work on her character and moves and whatnot, then maybe she would earn a place in the game's roster. Even still though, there are a few other characters that I would like to see first. Throw in some more variety before adding in a third character with ice powers.

Just my thoughts.
 
Your guys' logic is flawed. Just because we have ONE character in the game who uses ice, doesn't mean we can't have another. Notice I said "one", because it is just one character.

Characters that use fire-based attacks: Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sektor, Shang Tsung, Sheeva, Kintaro.
Characters that use green energy based attacks: Cyrax, Jade, Johnny Cage, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Goro, Shao Kahn, Ermac.

There are more examples of multiple characters that use similar abilities.

CSZ is the same person, just with added armor. He has a couple new specials, but he's still the same character.

But anyways, I'm all for Frost. She's the best female character in MK in my opinion. You know she's coming sooner or later because she's fighting Kenshi in the pit. If you notice a trend with the characters in backgrounds, you'll see a pattern. Scarlett, Kenshi, etc.
 
I am hoping that Frost becomes DLC as well as she's my fav MK character. I wouldn't mind seeing both her MKDA/MKA outfits, especially her Alt ;) hopefully with MK9 quality touch ups. I also would love to see some of her special moves (like ground free, slide, teleport uppercut etc) return along with those Ice daggers. I am sure that NRS can make her unique enough with an awesome moveset, so that the naysayers would stop thinking of her as another Ice warrior clone already.

Thats not a reason for being a DLC lol so we are expecting taven/daegon dlc, god hope not!

Cyrax: just his net, his moveset is around tech and bombs the net is the only green thing
Jade. she doesnt use green energy, her powers are based in her staff and boomerang, the only green is her shadow kick and that transparent thing.
Shang Tsung: where does he use green energy? his soul steal is green because in MK soul is green
Quan Chi: he doesnt use green energy just green skulls and green portals, thats not energy i think
Ermac: It is not green energy, is telekinesis.

Goro, Shao Kahn, Nightwolf and Johnny Cage, those chars. truly use green energy for their moveset, but goro just one move.

Sektor: only has flamethrower his moveset is around his rockets.
Shang tsung: fire is not his element, he throw skulls, flamin skulls, but skulls.
Sheeva: just an attack she is more like an stomping character

Liu Kang, Scorpion and Kintaro, those are the characters that truly go around fire.

I dont want another ice character but i dont want more green energy and fire characters either like you said, TBH i hate energy characters, i never use them.
I hope they can improve Sub a beat instead of realese Frost as DLC, maybe they can make his ice puddle faster because its an usless move or maybe add some special move because he has only 4, that'd be cool.

Two of the three moves you listed are already used by Sub-Zero. If she's going to be a great character, she needs a more unique moveset. I'd rather not see her play as a slightly faster Sub-Zero. Her Ice Puddle is a move that isn't in the current game and it could be useful for slipping and sliding them closer to her for a solid beating. Something to differentiate her as a fighter from Sub-Zero. If they do that, then Frost would be cool with me.

Sub-Zero's already pretty beastly, especially in the hands of good players. Giving him another move or more speed or turning his Ice Puddle into a great move would break him.

SubZero is the only one I really master and i really like how he is but i dont like that some characters has so many special moves an4 SZ only 4 and one being useless.

I think is the best in the game but id like more variety in his moveset, and i have no prob with his speed i never complained about it.
 
I am all for it! My hope is that the first character pack is 4 Kombatants for $20 and its Two Females and Two Males. Skarlett and Frost and Kenshi and Rain. As far as frost goes just because she is a cryomancer doesnt mean she has to be a sub-zero clone. The Frost in MK:DA and Armageddon was exactly that. But as is the trend in the new MK she will surely be reimagined. Theyll use existing characters because fans want their favorites but that doesnt mean theyll be the way you expect them to be. Klassic characters arent gonna be changed that much but a character like Frost is fair game to be redone IMO. She could use ice more offensively. Most of Subbies moves are to keep an opponent in place so you can combo. She could be more about Projectiles and teleports. More like Mileena or Kitana maybe? Who knows Ill post my ideas seperate from this. As far as Ermac being a Kenshi clone I disagree. Now as far as their playstyle and what their moves do yes they are very similar. I always thought Ermac sent out the souls that he was made of to say throw,slam, or blast his opponent. And thats what it looks like to me especially in the new MK. When he does his slam it looks like swirling green souls picking them up. Maybe its just me. And Kenshi is tele-kinetic as a result of his blindness. Anyway as I said these characters especially later ones might not be anything like what you expect. So I say bring it on!
 
Frost's Storyline- A young child found by the original Sub-Zero Bi Han during an attack by the Lin Kuei on an innocent village. The elder Sub-Zero sensed great power in the girl and proposed to the grand master to train her as an asassin. And so it was that Frost was taken by the Lin-Kuei against her will. Violent towards her captors especially the elder Sub-Zero, Frost's only solace was found in Kuai-Lang Codename:Tundra. A young man who had suffered a similar fate at the hands of the Lin-Kuei when he was taken by the clan as a child. Trained by Tundra, Frost's powers of cryomancy began to take shape. But such great power resided within the girl. And she struggled constantly to contain it. As she aged Frost's memories of her family began to fade. She knew only the way of the asassin, of the Lin-Kuei. Her infatuation with the young Kuai-Lang had blossomed and the two had fallen in love over these many years. Years later the Elder Sub-Zero left to join the Mortal Kombat tournament much to the dismay of Kuai-Lang who was anxious to prove his power. When news of Bi-Hans death reached Tundra he knew he must avenge his brother and took up the mantle of Sub-Zero. Frost begged him not to leave for the tournament. She had heard whispers of a nefarious plan concocted by the grand master and feared for her love and her clan. When Kuai-Lang departed the Grand Master began gathering his warriors for the Cyber Initiative. Frost narrowly escaped these new Cyber Ninjas and began tracking her love. Fearful of what may have happened to him at the hands of the Lin-Kuei or the asassin Scorpion.

Frost-Special Moves-
Ice Dagger Throw- Creates ice daggers to throw at her opponent. The EX version would freeze the opponent.

Icicle Summon- Forms Icicle spikes from under her opponent. The EX version would launch the opponent.

Ice Slide(Ground or Air)
A variation of Sub-Zeros Ice slide. Could also be performed in the air. Where she would slide diagonally down into the opponent from above.
The Ex version would end with a dagger stab then after impaled she would kick the opponent away.

Ice spikes(Anti-Air)
A small flurry of spikes would be unleashed from Frosts hands
The Ex version would freeze the enemy but not in place. They would still descend leaving them open for a combo.

Kick Flurry
Similar to Kitanas pretty kicks but vertical/diagonal.
Ex Version would end in an air throw.

X-Ray- Ice Scream(Projectile X-Ray)
Frost throws her daggers. They impale and crack bone and freeze organs. Frost slides across screen knocking the opponent air-borne Now at the opponents back, Frost does her kick flurry shattering the frozen organs and launching opponent to the other side of the screen.


Fatality 1- Ice to meet you:
Frost summons two Ice Daggers which she throws into the opponents legs. Opponents legs freeze and frost kicks them off. Then summons a spike throws it up and spinning back kicks it into the opponents head. Head freezes body falls over and the head shatters. Frost Wins Fatality.

Fatality 2- Blizzard Of Frost:
Frost summons a swirling blizzard which she tosses ice spikes into. They shoot across screen and impale the opponents head through the eye sockets. Legs and arms. The opponent flails around screaming. Frost giggles grabs the icicles in the opponents eyes tears the head off and halves it. As she raises them in victory the arms and legs of the opponent freeze and shatter leaving only a torso. Frost Wins Fatality!
 
No Frost. MK9 doesn't need three different selectable characters with freezing powers. No one here wants cryomancers to turn into the Shotos of Mortal Kombat.
