Why does everyone want to make Jade WHITE??

Trilogy

I see a bunch of fan art and sigs and other things where jade is portrayed as either white or asian...what's wrong with there being a BLACK female ninja??

She only looks whiter in MK9 in her renders, but in her versus pose and in-game model, she's black enough. Yeah, I like my Jade black.

I think the new Jade is actually more Middle Eastern looking than White. But then again, according the the U.S. census, Middle Eastern and North African is White. It's interesting how many threads there are on Jade being white or black. She's racially ambiguous and people are not comfortable with it. Similar to how mixed people are often classified as black. There always needs to be a defined category. It's a cognitive mechanism, a shortcut that we can use to explain why people act or say the things they do. It's much easier than actually using deductive reasoning to explain action and reaction- just say they are that way because they are black.

Jade's Edenian. Its pointless to talk about her race. Race is different everywhere you go. For instance, many "blacks" in the U.S. wouldn't be considered so in Brazil. Likewise, Brazil has a plethora of "races" ranging from Branca (White with light hair) to Morena (White with dark hair) to Negra (black with dark hair). In between there are at least thirty more classifications (or more, I don't remember).

Her in-game model is black but the renders are white. She is Asian in Annihilation and looks like a darker variation of Asian in UMK3. Sometimes she appears to be Latina too. lol She is a very confused woman.

Her race was never distinct, unlike Tanya who is clearly black. Jade's skin color changes more than the weather. In the end, does it really matter? Haha. Just let her be. Our multicultural sexy MK Lady. She will unite every race by breaking all barriers. Oh a peaceful world absent of prejudices. Thank you Jade.

Like i've said before

People think Jade is "Too Pretty" to be black

and say things like "She doesn't have black features" or "I think she's Middle eastern" or my fav "She's just tan"

I never have really though of her or Tanya as any particular race to be honest. I always thought of them as Edenian therefore just fantasy characters for me.

Really??
That REALLY surprises me that people saw jade as middle eastern or latina, and tanya as black
because i saw it as the EXACT OPPOSITE way

Her wide nose, big lips, and dark skin always made me think she was suppose to be like Kitana's best friend, who happens to be black, which i kind of liked
And Tanya, i considered her to be more middle eastern or latina because of her more caramel skin (lighter than jades), her deep set jeek bones, thin nose, and sizable lips

(p.s. i'm not being racist, i actually happened to be mixed with african american, german, itallian, irish, saudi arabian, and spanish........so yeah, not much room to be racist)

Depictions of Jade have been inconsistent. Her dark hair is probably the only physical feature that was constant. Her facial features and complexion varied by medium she has appeared in. Fan art doesn't always follow the original design 100% anyways. I actually find different takes on existing characters interesting.

She also has green eyes...usually a European attribute. You can be mixed with light eyes but it's a mutation that started in Europe.

People here saying that she's not black because she doesn't have the features of a black person... so the adjective black isn't used to describe one's skin color, but to describe their ascendancy or something like it? Huh, that's strange, here we use the word black to describe only skin color. Actually, even though the government tried, in Brazil there's no use in trying to classify people by their origins, people here are too mixed up. My grandmother, for instance, is black, and my grandfather is white. My genes come from all the world =D
