Due to the recent information about the 360 achievements, i was wondering if you would like to see smoke be one of the hidden characters unlocked from arcade mode?

As for me I would like to see him in the story mode, and to be playable from the beginning, however there is a chance he could be one of the 4 hidden characters.

What do you think, yes hidden smoke; no playable from the beginning.

In story mode: most definitely.
I think he should be an unlockable, though. Okay, maybe not the hardest thing to unlock ever, but I think it would be a nice throwback if you could fight him and unlock him arcade mode.

Yes Human smoke. But he must be locked, so we have to unlock him. No secret kharacters besides lady in red, or Khameleon or Chameleon.

As much as I would love to have Smoke playable from the start. I'd have to say: Locked. He's my #1 favorite character, so it would definitely be worth putting in the time and effort to unlock him.

Human, definitely... but not in the story mode. For right now he's too much of a favorite to not have as a playable at some point, but for now he belongs on the sidelines for the story mode like Quan Chi, Kratos, etc. I think once NRS gets settled in on a "new" storyline for the first 3 games they can really bring in the old favorites as this alternate reality plays out in MK10, 11......

This is my dream scenario:

25 playable from the start
6 hidden unlockable characters (quan chi, Cyber Sub, 4 others who are unknown like lady in red)
Bosses - Khan, Goro, Tsung, Kintaro, Motaro

So, that would be the 25 (tsung included in this) + 6 hidden + 4 bosses

For a grand total of 35 characters (not including Kratos, and DLC)

One can dream.

Unlocked from the start.

Spoiler:
Also, there aren't six hidden characters, there are two: Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero.

The four Hidden Kombatants on the Arcade Ladder are hidden fights that require doing something special to find, like Reptile in MK1. The wording of those four achievements say "Discover and Fight", not "Unlock Hidden Fighter" like Quan Chi and Cyber Sub.

Exactly. Doesn't mean there isn't more then two hidden characters, though.

For noob to be playbe and smoke to be hidden doesn't work for me. I think human smoke should be playbe we have the slots with quad chi being locked and the bosses not playable. But robe smoke should be only unlockable as a bonus character

I don't get all the who ha over human Smoke specifically. He was only ever a grey Scorpion with less moves. I'll be fine with him as an unplayable.

Every human thread has someone making this point, if you want a better anwser thumb through one of those, but I'll give you the reader digest version.

MK1 Reptile derp
Mk3 Robo Smoke
MK2, Mk3 Noob Saibot
Why develop these characters they are just pal swaps with other's moves????

Was just a clone because he was a bonus character, but if he is the main version then he will develop his own moves and style

All the character designs for Robo Smoke are shit, purple cybord? Mexican wrestler cloud?

Robo Smoke is a prop not character

And don't tell me about post MKt game play, I never played them and never will.

im sick to my stomach

This may be the wrong reaction to have but you made me lol. :)

And to Rekishiotaku, we've yet to see a Smoke redone as something else. All the other characters you mentioned have already been fleshed out/changed. We know their moves and people want them back as they've become accustomed to these characters. Seeing as Smoke has yet to be fleshed out as an original character. Not knowing if his moves are going to be that entertaining or not yet, I don't see why the fuss. It's not like he's already something original that should be 'back' in the game. The lady in red is a possible character. Why not more fuss over something entirely new?

However you argument is since Smoke does not have anything new, we shouldn't care if he is in the game, is the same as saying why should they have developed Reptile or Noob, and just worked on something new?
Not to mention human Smoke has a story in the original three, and frankly a better story than being a robot slave/tag team character of shadowed by another character.
There's a lot of Noob fans and a lot of Reptile fans out there, they wouldn't exist if people had your mentality back in the old days.

To most of us human Smoke fans, we have been waiting since MK2 to get our hand on him, disapointed when he was a purple robot, and felt robbed when beating MK3 with him it said he returned to his human form and would be in the next one, only to find out that they changed the ending in MKt.

Finally hopefully, human Smoke will get his own moves (with some sort of throw back to Scorpion's harpoon) and become a bigger part of the cannon.
