Damn it, I just realized this was my once chance to kick the rumour off...

Also, I find it hilarious they mistook Sindel for Sonya, warning not to mistake her for Nira. And couldn't tell the difference between a rope and a chain. My Polish heritage just killed itself.

I tried to do some translation myself before I saw yours, using Google Translate (ha, ha), and instead of spear, Google said that Scorpion's primary weapon was the 'shoelace'! :)

Also, about that last page with Kratos and Ermac, they talk about looking at the background. Can anyone tell at all who that is fighting on the background pit level? The character on the left is tall and has a dark or red back with a spot. Here's the pic --

Thanks, Google translate is correct though, the literal translation is shoelace LOL. But Polish words typically change meaning depending on context, so I changed it to rope which is logically closest.

I have no idea what characters are in that image though. I think they were just referring to the fact that there simply are backgrounds characters, I doubt the author has the knowledge to hint at anything MK related.

On the left is Daegon and the guy on right seems to have purple & black clothing.

My God... Ermac has me wetting my pants. He looks so amazing. I honestly never ever expected this to happen. I HATED his Deception/Armageddon look. Absolutely hated it. Somehow they've taken it and turned it into something so freakin beautiful. I think he'll be the first character I'll play as. Sorry Scorpion.

As for Sindel... Wow. She looks incredible. That's the kind of "sexy but not trashy" that I was talking about in my Mileena thread. Is her design a little on the slutty side? Yes. But it fits. It works. I love it. If only they took this road when designing Mileena.

Sonya's battle damage is pretty cool looking. But I'm hoping the characters have to go through a lot of hell to end up like that. 2 Rounds shouldn't leave Sonya with her thong out. Maybe if it gets to Round 3 or 4... Sure.

As for Reiko and Rain... I'm curious. What's the deal with that? Hinting at them showing up in the next game, maybe? Letting the fans know that these characters wont be present in MK9 but are not forgotten?

Based on what you said why would Rain be in MK 2011? The only legitimate MK he's been in is Armageddon. And because of that he's never even had his own unique Fatalities. Below are the MK's that count towards MK 2011.

Arcade:
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat 4

Deception
Armageddon

And saying "No comment" is a comment in of itself. I'm indifferent Kratos is in the game. I am definitely not defending the decision to put him in but I'm not condemning the character either.

If you really feel that angry and you feel you have to say "No comment" then next time just don't type anything if you hate him that much. People act as if Kratos has wronged them in the past or something... he's just a video game character people.

Last time I checked, Ultimate MK3 is part of MK 2 and 3. So uh... Rain should be in there. It's kind of a "no duh" thing.

So what if he didn't have his own fatalities? Many characters didn't even get their own unique appearance until the 3D games. It's called evolution. They need to take things that were broken or lacking and bring it to the next level.

And I think you're taking my "no comment" comment a little too seriously. I mean, really? It was a joke.

Ultimate MK 3 was just a new revision to MK 3 in arcades, not part of MK II. Rain was not playable in it, nor as a fightable secret character (ala Noob Saibot). He only appeared in the "Attract Mode".

Edit: I'm not saying Rain will not be in it at all. Most likely he will be a DLC character. I'm just saying though, if you're counting on him being in there from the start, the chances aren't as great as some other characters.

I know the chances are slim. I can still hope, can I not?

Ultimate MK3 is an updated MK3. It in a way, cancels out MK3. Therefor he is part of the first three MK games. Hell, Trilogy was another update for the game and he appeared in that as well.

And considering Stryker is in the damn game, why wouldn't Rain show up? No one freaking likes Stryker.

Sindel attacks Sonya in the pic, and this is the motive of the warning (and it's Nina, Nina Williams of Tekken)
