Kratos to star in upcoming mortal kombat

I honestly feel like someone took a SHIT on this game.
It was perfect! An awesome reboot of everything.
Everything it could've and should've been.
Then they left a huge steaming pile of SHIT ON IT

LOL very descriptive my friend :P, but it is definitely true. People dont understand the fact that us fans were having a service done for us by NR Studios for this game, Kratos has taken a huge chunk away from that fan service, and the hype this game has generated for us. Except for hardcore fans like us, regular consumers are not gonna realize that this is a reboot game wanting old fans to relive the 90's and new fans to see what the 90's were all about, theyre gonna be like OMG Kratos is in this game, before anything else. Again, this has definitely killed the point of this game.
 
I'm sorry, but all the people *****ing about Kratos being in the game are taking the news WAY too seriously. Most of you are doing the stereotypical fanboy thing by whining and complaining about a game's feature before the full details about the feature are even revealed, and crying RUINED FOREVER months before the game is even out (And I bet that some of you haven't even played any of the demos, which would make your opinions even more irrelevant). I've read some of the threads in these forums and I know that you all are better than this. To see most of you go from typing intelligent posts and discussing like adults to whining about just one character in the game and acting exactly like the kind of cynical fans that everybody hates is just sad.

And before you ask, I'm actually on the side about how Kratos being in Mortal Kombat seems out of place and goes against them bringing the franchise back to its roots. But unlike the people who I agree with, I'm actually going to wait until all of the facts about Kratos being in MK are revealed.
 
I'd honestly rather see them include Justin Bieber. That way we could kill the little ****er.

I've been with this site for a long time and have not felt the need to post until I saw this. This game is basically an apology for DC universe and all the other shitty characters they brought into the games. It is that simple, this was supposed to bring back everything we loved. This is not about combining with other games, there are enough characters in the mk universe that are going to be left out. There is no way Kratos will fit, it just does not work. I was really excited about the new game and now I write about it like my wife is leaving me. Its a huge exaggeration but now when I think about the new game I feel empty when I was once full of hope. You must understand that its all about the money and no longer about the fans. Out of any outside character they could pick that would be fitting for this game that is the one that would bring in the most money. I will not buy this game.

BTW: This feels like a punishment for yesterday's leaked characters. Like they try to balance the fun of ours
 
I consider myself a hardcore fan and I am elated that Kratos will be making an appearance in MK9. I respect all of your opinions, but yours is not the consensus of the entire MK fanbase.

As for Kratos being a steaming pile of shit on this game, I think that happened with the move to 3D, hence NRS' reboot of the ENTIRE franchise. But, again, that's just an opinion.

Adding 3d isn't half as bad as adding a character like Kratos that could possibly take up the spot for a more deserved
ACTUAL Mortal Kombat character.

You are not losing a character on the main roster....Kratos would look extremely out of place in the roster...he is probably day one DLC or a hidden character or something... there is a separate button for DLC in the character roster.

He is completely optional, and does not interfere with the story mode at all. Just a goddamn bonus character.

Didn't you know that game devs work on DLC even before the game is released ?

The 26 characters in the initial roster will be there in the final game. Kratos is #27.

Now stop getting your panties in a bunch and get hyped for this amazing game.... just imagine Kratos isn't there...you don't have to use him if you don't want to.

People are saying this game is an apology for MK vs DC. That game was about MK characters and DC characters fighting each other with the two universes merged together in a story. Kratos is not in the story. You can use him in versus mode if you want to. That is all.

I don't understand where the invisible 'cap' is on how many MK characters can and will be included. With DLC there could be no end to the roster. I don't see how adding a character is taking away from a 'spot' that another character could have.
 
Huh, you guys really seem to be mad about this. There really isn't anything to be mad about. If anything this will help the game more than break it. Kratos' whole existance wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the MK franchise and what they did to change video games. What better way to show gratitude than for more media attenion and more sales? I mean Kratos is the only modern mainstream video game icon that really fits in with this game.

I have to repsectfuly disagree Cigar. Kratos fits pretty well with a game full of dismemberment and violence. It's one tiny character and the difference he will make is a positive one that won't effect the rest of the game or the other characters or the story as a whole. Think of it as a DLC character we're getting for free.

If that's the case why not add a ****ing deathclaw or super mutant from Fallout. I mean, it's full of
dismemberment and violence. Hey, let's add some zombies from the Call of Duty Zombies mode.
After all it IS full of dismemberment.
 
I don't care how respectful you are the main point is missed. Kratos does not belong in this game in any way. I don't care if hes dlc or not, this is mk not gow. Mk has enough characters, over 60 to choose from and yet Kratos is picked. Many of those 60 would not belong and people would be upset about but to add someone that everyone who grew up with mk would hate is an insane move. With the promise of a reboot, to continue where mk3 left off. It was a chance to go back and erase previous mistakes, to give back to the lifelong fans.

I tried to defend DC universe even though it went against so many things that I loved about the original. This game was supposed to be pure mortal kombat.

Genius marketing or not, this ruins their whole idea of going to a "reboot". Their whole "catering to the fans" ploy.
The whole thing about "going back to the roots". It's like a waste of space.
