You know... watching this thread.

I remember when I joined this forum, during MK9 PC release. The hype for MKX was on another level. We spent weeks guessing which character represents which foot. Our biggest issues, were the length of the neck and model quality, but that was such tiny issue for us, that I don't remember seeing a single person, that said that they will skip the game or just don't feel MK spirit anymore.

Fast forward to now.

Ooof. How the mighty have fallen.

I've been thinking about it more now, and they could easily squeeze in 4 characters per Kombat Kast as they wouldn't have to go over variations this time around. Each character in "Mortal Kombat 1" has 100% of their moves and the kameos are just small assists.
4 kombat kasts with 3~4 characters each would give us the remaining characters on the roster as confirmed aside from Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Liu Kang, Johnny, Kitana, Mileena, Kung Lao, Kenshi and Shang Tsung.
Dunno.

There's 12 weeks left so it's doable, but yeah, their marketing is still utter shit at the moment.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion are now BLOOD brothers with the same father and Raiden is also now Chinese.
So either Dominic is just ignorant or he blatantly said "fuck you" and gave a big middle finger to Japanese culture.
I'd like to think that it's the former and that he's ignorant, but at this point who knows?

Been browsing the MKLeaks sub-reddit and seeing stupid people on there constantly talking about how Kuai-Liang will now be Scorpion.
NO, HE WON'T.
Dominic is just THAT stupid / ignorant when it comes various cultures and ethnicity and writing, and people are now seeing it. Lol
Hanzo will be Scorpion.
Hanzo and Bi-Han will both be Chinese and brothers, because according to Dominic it'll be "Fuck you, because I said so."

Not many good signs as it comes to the bios.

-With Kitana and Mileena both being from Outworld I think Liu Kang simply merged it with Edenia.Thats why we get heavenly versions of the Outworld stages like the forest.Also I hate the dynamic of Kitana being Mileena's protector lol

-Seems like Raiden and Liu Kang are swapping roles this time,which I think is lame.Give that role to Kung Lao and make Raiden a different kind of character.

-With the feud between Scorpion and Sub,maybe he kills Sub to take control of Liu Kuei or maybe he splits off to form the Shirai Ryu.But yeah,as Commander said,seems like the're pretending there is no difference between Chinese and Japanese and we're just supposed to roll with it lol.''Terrible decisions that we're just suppoded to roll with''of course being a constant in NRS'reign over MK.

With regard to Outworld, my guess is that if Liu Kang did merge the realms peacefully then something / someone comes along and corrupts it, and then for the forest (for example) that'll be the night time / corrupted MKII version of the Living Forest that we all know, since each stage has a day and nigh cycle per Ed Boon.

With the feud between Sub-Zero and Scorpion, if the ShiRai Ryu are an off-shoot of the Lin Kuei then maybe Bi-Han goes into some extreme shit like wanting to Cyberize every one and Hanzo is like "Hell, no" and goes to form the ShiRai Ryu, like you mentioned.

I just hope that the gameplay is decent enough for this game as I don't have too much faith in the lore anymore.

Inb4 Ashrah is now Raiden's estranged aunt from Hawaii and Li Mei is his cousin twice removed or some other dumb shit like that, thanks to Dominic.

More like these are Dominic's characters now.
They tested the waters with MK11 and him re-writing the backstory for Sindel, Kabal and Skarlet and people didn't make enough of a stink about it and they still went on to sell 15 million copies, and now he has been given free reigns to the lore.

You remind me how, when the entire "SEXY = BAD" crusade started right before MKX, I said something like "they change that now, what exactly will stop them changing the characters or gore?". Was called a bunch of names, "NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!", "THAT'S DIFFERENT!!" and 3 games later.......... Oh how the mighty have fallen.....

Now to be fair, this is a NuEra, so really if they wanted to make...... a Bald Nazi Refrigerator called Frosty (@Misucra ).... they really have the most perfect excuse to do this.... NuErA.....

....And even in this NuEra, Dominic still sucks ass. Tarkat disease, Quan Liang = BOONPION, Johnny Cringe being.... pretty much exactly the same It's like... the some characters are different, but not really....

Also since you brought up race, don't you think that Dominic who virtue signals left right and center, made Kung Pao into a....well....stereotypical Asian rice field straw hat dude? Even Rayden seems to be the same, but the render of Kung Pao makes him look like some NPC.

...Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this. If Lui can alter pretty much anything with the HoUrGlAsS..... this means Kronikx is an absolute moron.

The ONLY saving grace with this dumb-shit Bi-Han and Hanzo "being brothers" shtick is that maaaaaaaaybe Bi-Han is still an extreme asshole and goes off the deep end to want to create the cyber Lin Kuei, so Scorpion (Hanzo) disagrees that he's taken things too far and leaves the Lin Kuei and forms the Shirai Ryu.
Again, though, that's asking for some coherent writing from Dominic, though, which is like asking a shark to walk on land.

As for Raiden and Kung Lao, they come from the same area in China according to their bios...........Fengjian
Raiden also works tending the rice fields.
It's like they went 'Copy' and then 'Paste' for both Raiden and Kung Lao.

I like this fresh take on the characters like Sub-Zero and Scorpion being brothers. I also notice that they mention social media in Johnny Cage's bio. Either it takes place in 2023 or that 1992 has social media now?

Lets hope thats the outcome for Scorpion,because otherwise,Scorp is pissed off at Bi-Han,kills him,and then he becomes...Noob Saibot.Imagine this whole brothers business only for the exact same thing to happen.
The only thing salvageable so far is that leaked roster,lets hope thats true and we get some 3d era characters,althought thats still missing Hotaru.

That's what I'm hoping for.
I'll be tuning in to any kombat kast hoping that Ashrah, Nitara, Li Mei, Reiko and Havik are all true.
