when did you firs play mk. for me it was about 8 years ago when I was 5. My cousin had lived next store to me and he brought over his saga and said that he had the coolest game ever called mk2 then I was hooked the next day I found a saga at a yard sale and asked my mother to buy it and it luckily came with mk2. I have playe dall the mks but mk1

Well..

I think i was around 4-6 years old, and my brothers had gotten MK3. They installed it on my parents computer upstairs in their room. I'm a girl, so i always played as Sindel, and i always watched my brothers play. They also got a guidebook with it, so i brought it to kindergarten, and i hung out with a bunch of the older boys and we'd talk about our favorite fatalities and characters. Good times, good times.

i was idk like 5 or 4 or something and my parents bought a super nintendo and it came with ultimate mortal kombat 3 and i liked it sooooo much i've been playing mortal kombat games ever since.......

my mums friend took me and my brother over to hang out with his son for the night and we rented movies, one happened to be MK:A (yeah I liked mka, sue me)

My first experience with MK was when MK 1 came out. I remember I was like 7 or 8 and my older cousin had it and after that i was round like every week playin it tryin to get further into it and to find out all of the fatalitys

I was between ages 4 and 5 at summer camp (my birthday is during the summer). My camp had it for some of the older kids during game room time (this was before I had a console or computer of my own, which didn't come until I was about 11). My entire camp group was hooked on it and in later years we even based our talent show skit on an MK ninja musical medley balet...good time, good times.

ok,umm I went to an arcade, found a game called MortalKombat 3, and like everyone talked about something called "Mortal Kombat" at school so then I decided to play it and I was all like "Wow this is a good game" and have been playing it ever since.

i dunno how old i was, but my bro in law had a megadrive (genesis) and the first game he bought was the original MK. i used to be scared of all the guts n stuff, but then my parents bought me MK2 on the amiga. a few years down the line i played MK3 and MKT on 2 of my friends' PSXs, and when i finally got my own PSX i bought MK4 and loved it, played it to death. and then forgot about it. then out of curiosity a few years later, i bought MKDA on the PS2, and then a few months later MKD on the GC. now im hooked.

I saw the ad on TV and then later saw it on a console gamers show. I was a total deer in the head lights at first. Then many years later I actually got MK1 on the megadrive but didn't realise it was missing a character.

Gosh, my first MK encounter was so lame, I was a total Noob... :?

I first played it when i was 4. My dad is a gore-a-holic, so he bought the game. back then he used to play video games so we played it to death with each of the characters. I used to play and play it, but when i got to goro the first time, i nearly peed myself and ran to my parents room screaming... since then he is the only video game character that ever made me scream... the strangest thing about my kombat expieriences is that i never pulled off a true fatality until MK:D (i had never played mk3 and 4 now i only need to play mk3)... man i suck....

I think it wasnt until MK Trilogy that I actually owned a MK game, but Ive always seen them at the arcades but I wasnt that big into arcades, but I did play a little of the early MK games. Since trilogy Ive had every MK game since, except for special forces...but I guess I didnt miss out =p

Anyways what was really cool about MK was the gore and the characters, I couldnt stand other fighting games because they had no blood and thier characters seemed to always be pretty boys or little cute girls and boring. I always thought MK had the coolest characters.

I was at an arcade which was upstairs at the Vista Ridge mall in Lewisville, TX (I was about 17 or 18 at the time). I was playing this sucky game called Street Fighter II. There was this asian girl playing also, and I was talking to her (she was really cute). She asked me if I wanted to see a really cool new game, so I said sure. She took me downstairs to the movie theater which had the MK1 arcade machine. As I pressed through the crowd, I noticed someone do Scorpions fatality.. I was instantly hooked. I forgot to get that girl's name and number. :(

I never saw her again. If Love Cowboy would have known me at the time, he would have flogged me.

That's ok, I had a new love and her name was "Mortal Kombat". ;)

There are very few things I remember about being 2 years old. Some of those things include drinking syrup, eating whole loafs of bread, saying by to my sis when she went to school, craping in my aunts closet, (several times) and watching, not playing, Mortal Kombat.

My cousins Tony and Mike got the 1st game a year after it came out, and MKII shortly after. However, I wasnt aloud to play until I was 5, which is when UMK3 came out. I absolutly never won when I fought Tony and Mike, Id be lucky if they didnt get Double Flawless.

I like MK, but Tony and Mike, were addicts It leterally became their Crack. Mike was the better of the two, and he would invite random strangers to come inside and play MK. (This was very dangerous, because we lived in a crime infested slum at te time) He played so much, his Sega blew up, along with his copy of MKII. So, he sold his MKI, and MK3 to my other cousin Peter.

We then moved to a better naborhood, where Tony and Mike bought an N64, along with MK4 and MK Trilogy. Of course, Id play with them, and , of course, I'd lose. My family then moved again, so I couldnt play MK with them, cause we no longer lived next door to each other. So, for my B-Day they bought me my own N64, along with MK4 and MK Trilogy. These were the first MK games I ever owned.

Years went by, and Tony and Mike gave up their obsession with the game, and slowly, so did I. Then MKDA came out, and my obsession returned stronger than ever! My parents bought me a PS2, and that was the first game I got! Soon after, Pete had a garage sale, were I bought Tony and Mike's MKI, MK3, and Pete's Sega Genisis.

Then I decided, I was gonna own ALL the MK games. I went to GameWorld, and bought MKII, and UMK3. My parents bought me a Dreamcast, for the SOLE PURPOSE, of owning MK Gold. They also bought me MKM, MK Trilogy for PS2, and MKSF.

Then, in November, MK Deception came out. At the time I didnt have a job, and all I had to my name was 25 dollars. So me and Tony went out and he gave me a $25 dollar loan to buy the game, and I payed him back by mooching of my grandparents, washing cars, and washing some dishes.

I just recently bought MK Shaolin Monks and I CANNOT put it down!!! In short, Mortal Kombat has always been part of my life, and always will be. Some day I hope to be a film director, and I plan to make every MK game into a movie, but this will be done better than the craptacular movies that are out now, that I promiss you. So wish me Luck!

My first experience was kind of funny. I was young, maybe 5 or 6, and was putting on a magic show for the family (Parents, sister, grandma). Somehow, they managed to slip the genesis cart under a cloth I had on the "stage" (Cardboard stand that came with the kit), and when I picked up the cloth, there it was.

Never figured out how they did it, but god I loved that game.

i think it was when i got midway arcade treasures 2 and i saw the trailor for MKD. i was kinda like oooooooooo those death traps look cool, so i bought it and i have loved the series ever since.

Haha...it's funny how out of place your "first experience" sounds amongst all these anecdotes of we long-time fans talking about when we were toddlers. But boy man, this thread is even older than all the others you've been bumping today! 2005? Seriously? Check the date first boyo.

i don't see the crime in bumping threads, and I never will, no matter what peeps say... if a new guy wasn't around to post in a classic thread to share his sh1t, then let him bump it! anyway-

I was about 6 or 7 when my brother's friend moved in to the house around the block. He had an N64 and MKTrilogy. My brother took me there. I played as subzero i believe against sheeva, or maybe vice versa, and whoever i lost to (AI) did a babality on me. I was not hooked and the experience quickly dwindled away.

Many years later when I was in fourth grade, my mom's friend, who was doing construction on our house in the near future, bought over three games- MKDA, some matrix game, and GTA vice city. of course, my bro played vice city nonstop, matrix was bleh, but I in particular played MKDA one night and was amazed. The complex combos, insatiable bloodlust, fatalities..! Then, I watched the "history of MK" video in the extras section of the game, and saw many fatalities, old and new. I was stunned by the graphic gruesomeness of them all, from shocking someone till their head pops to gnawing their face off, and I tried drawing all of them down on a piece of paper, then made a comic where homestarrunner.com's strong bad executes them on homestar. too bad i couldn't get it.

a year later, my brother brought home 3 games from a garage sale, including MKII, along with a(you guessed it!) sega genesis. I was instantly hooked on mk2, even though i couldn't do fatalities. it was just so...cool. I then went on newgrounds.com, through which i became associated with the kombat pavilion, through which i became associated with dave's mk, through which I picked up information about an upcoming game called mk7, which brung me here. then I bought almost every mk game, except mk4 and the adventure games, excluding mksm. let's just say that since then, every new release was bought by me, as will mk vs dc.

at pizza hut a long, long, long time ago i played MK1 on an arcade machine and i loved it thats when i was hooked
